His lips trailed over her dry shoulder, then down her spine.

Realizing words were useless, Jaha tried to move—but before she could even attempt escape, he stopped her.

“I’ll savor every bite, chew you up slowly. Understood?”

Interlacing their fingers, he nipped her nape lightly, like punishment. Her body shuddered.

Their rings clinked together, locked between their entwined hands.

“I’m completely sick of it because I overate. I don’t think I’ll even think about it for the next month.”

Exhausted and worn out, Jaha gritted her teeth as she spoke.

“Did you really eat that much?”

Staring at the shamelessly questioning handsome man, Jaha wondered just how much he had sold his conscience for.

Where in the world did this vicious man—who, despite her begging and pleading that she couldn’t take anymore, had coaxed and soothed her until she regained her energy, only to do exactly as he pleased—come from?

“I have a small appetite. And I get bored of things really easily—once I’m sick of something, I might never even touch it again.”

When she snapped at him in irritation, he disgustingly drooped his eyebrows. If he hadn’t been the same man who had been relentlessly pushing her like a beast just moments ago, she might have fallen for his pitiful act.

“Stop pretending to be pitiful. Who’s the real victim here?”

“Was it really that hard for you?”

He gently rubbed her shoulder with his thumb. It was a ticklish gesture, carrying affection and playfulness without any s****l intent.

“Are you seriously asking because you don’t know?”

Jaha retorted sharply. She had said it was her limit dozens of times—there was no way he hadn’t heard her unless he was deaf.

“We took breaks, though.”

“It wasn’t about taking breaks—it was about stopping.”

“So, are you sick of me?”

He asked with a grin, his confidence that she couldn’t possibly be annoyed at him making her even more irritated.

“Yes.”

“You don’t like me anymore? Really?”

Even after hearing her say it to his face, his expression didn’t change as he kept smiling and asking. As if he already knew she didn’t mean it. As if it didn’t affect him at all.

“I said yes.”

“That can’t be right.”

Pulling Jaha into an embrace, he whispered into her ear. The sensation made her hairs stand on end, and she jerked away.

“I said it is.”

“Weird. It doesn’t seem like it.”

“Ugh, seriously. Have you already decided on the answer?”

“Yes. Tell me you like me. Say you adore me.”

“You have to do something adorable to be adored.”

“I’m making a cute face right now, asking to be adored.”

He blinked his eyes deliberately—a playful, exaggerated gesture. Yet, perhaps because his lashes were long, the fluttering of his eyelids resembled the wings of a butterfly.

Caught off guard by this sudden visual assault, Jaha found herself entranced, admiring the spectacle created by his jewel-like blue eyes and delicate golden lashes.

She should say he wasn’t pretty—but she simply couldn’t.

Distracted by his beauty, she missed her chance to retort. Noticing her hesitation, he slowly narrowed his eyes and pressed her.

“Hmm? Jaha.”

Defeated by his shameless attitude, Jaha threw up her hands in surrender.

“Fine. You’re pretty. Wow, whoever’s dating you must be lucky—you’re so pretty.”

“Who else would it be? I’m Yoo Jaha’s lover.”

“If you say so… Oh, right! I saw something interesting today when I went downtown to buy a gift.”

“What was it?”

“I saw a delegation from abroad. Where was it again…? Kyrtan? Anyway, there was a prince, and it was quite extravagant. The knight at the front was in full ceremonial armor—”

“Did you see the prince’s face?”

Suddenly, he cut in, his tone shifting so abruptly it felt unnatural.

Jaha paused, sensing something off. He rarely interrupted her like this—no, this was the first time he had outright sliced through her words mid-sentence.

‘Was he that curious about the prince?’

Well, this wasn’t Earth, where you could just look up foreign royalty online. Eyewitness accounts were valuable.

“Yes. Platinum blond hair, eyes as blue as Rikanan’s—he looked like a prince. His features were refined, handsome.”

Honestly, he could’ve been a celebrity. Dressed impeccably, radiating nobility—of course he would stand out. Cedric, in his rightful place, had been radiant.

Lost in thought, Jaha was still processing the stark contrast between the man before her now and the memories of him as a slave when—

“Was that prince more to your taste, Jaha? More than me?”

An abrupt question.
