Chapter 1.11
Contrary to the public’s evaluation of him being social, Demian hated banquets and parties.
Because they were places filled with the things he had to be most wary of in order to become the Crown Prince and Emperor.
The wicked enticements of the cunning.
Requests to invest in businesses that seemed unlikely to succeed.
‘But the thing I have to be most wary of is…….’
In the corridor where Demian stopped, several frames were hanging.
Contained within were portraits of those who had once caused a stir in the Yvelun Imperial family and the Empire.
Below them was a short description of why they died.
Aldi Yvelun.
Ascended to the throne at a young age but was blinded by lust, taking 43 concubines—died from coital exhaustion after doing nothing but that every single day.
‘Because of this, the people view it very unfavorably when members of the Imperial family take lovers or concubines.’
Pablo Yvelun.
The youngest brother of the Emperor—created a harem by bringing 60 women to the Imperial villa, only to be assassinated by one of them.
‘Actually, they say he wasn’t assassinated, but died of poisoning while frequently receiving bee stings to increase the strength of his c**k in order to handle all those lovers.’
There were several more portraits hanging in the corridor besides those.
They were all members of the Imperial family who had died young due to their massive s****l desire.
And, hanging at the very end was none other than a mirror.
“Ha…….”
Demian let out a deep sigh.
A secret he had never told even his closest associate, Douglas, who had watched over him since he was born.
The flaw of his own that he was most concerned about was precisely his excessively vigorous body and mind.
Ever since he passed through puberty, this damn body of his knew no cooling down.
Every night, he would have e****c dreams and would often jump out of bed in the morning with a hard-on.
Following the teachings of the sages that a wise king resolves his s****l desire through exercise, he exhausted his body through swordsmanship, running, and hiking, but instead, muscles were built and his stamina increased, only making his vigor more rampant.
Thinking that his heat would only settle if he trained his body until he collapsed, he practiced all sorts of magic and swordsmanship for several hours a day.
As a result, he approached the level of a Sword Master at the age of nineteen, but this damn body remained the same.
And was that all? Demian knew full well that his own body was sensually sensitive and debauched to a hopeless degree.
That was also the reason why he wore gloves and pretended to have mysophobia, preventing other people from coming near him.
“……O God.”
It felt like he was even more of a piece of trash because his rival for the Crown Prince competition, his half-brother Frid, was a devout and celibate human born with immense holy power.
Demian sighed and fastened his shirt again. He adjusted his tie and put on the stifling gloves he had taken off.
He wasn’t unaware that several women would cling to him persistently and seduce him at the banquet that was about to start.
Whether it was an action for the future of their family or an action based on simple desire, to Demian, women were the number one thing to avoid.
It was already time to leave the office.
Demian looked into the mirror and reconfirmed his life motto.
Resolve s****l desire on my own, and only engage in things like romance after becoming the Crown Prince, firmly establishing a power base, and securing my life.
Do not keep women by my side.
Do not dwell on temptations or the subtle touches meant for seduction; forget them immediately.
“…….”
As he recited that to himself, a clear voice suddenly came to mind.
“And this may sound a bit silly…… perhaps because I’ve looked at the painting hanging in the mansion for so long, I momentarily failed to connect it to your grown-up appearance.”
He clearly remembered the appearance and voice of Levi Heron as she said that.
Since the Young Lady was so sickly that she hadn’t appeared in social circles, was it because it had been a long time since he’d seen her face up close?
He had heard that suffering from illness was her daily routine, so he expected her to have grown into an adult with no vitality, but the woman she had become gave the impression of a spring flower that had barely bloomed after overcoming the winter cold.
Both her pink eyes revealed beneath lush eyelashes and her flowing honey-like blonde hair remained the same, so he had ended up staring for quite a while.
It was also the first time he had heard the memory of the day he last went out with his mother from someone else’s mouth.
Moreover, isn’t Levi Heron the Lady famous for having such a crush on Frid that she even collapsed?
It must be because it was unexpected for his mother’s story to come out of the mouth of a woman who fervently supported Frid that he remembered the short conversation so vividly.
‘I must forget it.’
Demian glared at the sinister man in the mirror, once again reminding himself that there must absolutely be no woman in his life.
