Only then did Levi feel she knew the reason why Demian had offered her an apology that didn’t suit him.
Inciting a rebellion after a long narrative and becoming a villain obsessed with the heroine—his half-brother’s woman—were all things of the future.
No matter how naturally gifted he was in swordsmanship, mana, and physical ability, Demian, who had no backing, would not have been recognized as Frid’s opponent from the start.
To stand on equal footing with Frid as he did now, Demian must have had to do his absolute best to defeat his half-brother, who had a more solid political foundation than he did.
Levi was certain that he, too, had once experienced her position of having to show her people that she was useful, even if it meant overexerting herself.
“Thank you for saying that, Your Highness. It’s an effort that must be kept secret, but honestly, it makes me happy that someone recognizes it.”
The moment she replied honestly with a light smile, a ticklish spring breeze blew in through the open door.
Her long, wavy platinum hair swayed elegantly along the breeze, and a pleasant scent wafted over.
A few petals of spring flowers that had just bloomed lingered in front of her alluring face for a few seconds before flying off somewhere.

Demian couldn’t open his mouth until the wind died down, and only managed to continue his words when the surroundings became quiet.

The original novel she knew was a story written thoroughly from the perspectives of the protagonists, Frid and Ayla.
‘To those two, Demian is undoubtedly a villain who obstructs their love.’
However, since she had become a member of this world, it would be a great mistake to look at the characters only one-dimensionally.
Levi realized that fact through her conversation with Demian just now.
To her, he was the final villain and the number one target to avoid, but at any rate, he was also a human being.
One who desired the Emperor’s throne to avoid losing his life while being crushed by power, who acted out perfection, and who put in tireless effort underwater.
Of course, knowing that fact didn’t mean she was going to struggle to change his fate.
Deciding to actively become friends with him just because she realized he wasn’t a bad person was also a bit out of context.
