Chapter 1.9

An unexpected connection with Demian had formed, but I seemed to have gotten through it somehow.
I arrived at the place where the entrance ceremony worship was taking place and sat in my designated seat.
The High Priest, who had traveled from the Great Temple to the Academy for this event, spoke in a solemn voice.
“May the Goddess’s Blessing be upon everyone in this place.”
While listening to the prayer the High Priest was reciting with my hands clasped like a devout believer, I slightly opened one eye and looked at Demian.
‘Wow, his image management is truly thorough.’
The Demian now was a completely different person from earlier when he revealed his prickly side to me after confirming there was no one around.
Even though the clothes must be uncomfortable due to his wide shoulders and muscles, his appearance with even the top button of his shirt firmly fastened made him look like a devout believer to anyone.
His appearance, quietly closing his eyes and focusing on the priest’s sermon, was as beautiful as if a skilled sculptor had carved it with care.
Even those who pointed fingers at Demian, calling him a prince born on the day demons were rampant, would shut their mouths seeing his solemn appearance right now.
‘Who would believe that such a noble-looking person is the most debauched and lewd obsessive secondary male lead in a 19+ novel?’
His expressions when he wore a soft and benevolent smile in front of everyone and when he faced me, who was presumed to be Frid’s close associate, were so different.
Having unintentionally confirmed that Demian was a person hiding a prickly personality with perfect image management, I thought once again.
That as expected, it would be best to maintain only a moderate acquaintance with Demian to the point of not being killed with a single stroke.
That didn’t mean I intended to stick closely to the side of the original male lead, Frid, and act as his closest aide.
My goal was to let Frid and the original female lead meet quickly while I quietly stepped back from political conflict.
Because a family that maintains neutrality like Heron is perfectly suited to seeing blood if they get caught in a political situation where factions are clearly divided and power struggles are breaking out as they are now.
Demian, who had no way of knowing what I was thinking while looking at him, wore a benevolent smile while looking at the statue of the Goddess.
“O Goddess. Peace and blessings.”
The sarcastic tone he showed when he was alone with me earlier was completely erased.
To think that a man pretending to be so pure is actually a beast in bed with incredible s****l stamina, using the female lead as a holy power battery and then wanting her body so much that he does this and that over the course of 130 pages…….
‘Whoever is the person to hang around with such a two-faced bastard, I feel sorry for them. Did they commit a crime in their past life?’
I didn’t know back then.
That the one who would kiss him to calm him down when he was possessed by a lust demon shortly after would be me.

As the service ended, the priest of the Great Temple bowed his head toward the 1st Prince, Demian.
“We were very worried upon hearing that Lord Frid would find it difficult to attend the entrance ceremony, so we are simply grateful that Lord Demian could take his place like this.”
“…….”
Demian knew full well that this priest of the Temple was not on his side.
His half-brother, the 2nd Prince Frid, was currently away investigating the movements of magic beasts in his capacity as the Commander of the Holy Knights instead of attending this tedious entrance ceremony service.
The priest, a close associate of Frid and his maternal family, was pointedly highlighting that fact.
Therefore, whether he attended the service or not, Frid’s piety and holy power were bound to receive more attention anyway.
However, even knowing all of this, Demian replied nonchalantly.
“It was a time where I could fully feel the Goddess’s grace. It is I who should be grateful to you.”
“…….”
“I hope the Goddess’s blessing also reaches Frid, who is performing his duties as the Commander of the Holy Knights. Well then, I’ll take my leave.”
Demian offered a greeting to the priest in a gentle voice and left the campus temple where the entrance ceremony service had been held.
Then, he walked with long, heavy strides toward the Tea House provided within the Academy.
It was a private office prepared for members of the Imperial family when they stayed at the Academy, and it was currently being used by Demian as his personal space.
Stepping inside, Demian confirmed once more that no one was around and threw himself onto the sofa.
As if he had no intention of maintaining the upright posture and image he had shown throughout the service, he stretched out his long legs and even hooked them over the sofa’s armrest.
“Ha…… that old fox of a priest.”
He muttered irritably, pulling down his tie and undoing three or four shirt buttons, but his stifled feeling didn’t improve at all.
