Yudis snapped back at Owen with even more irritation.
“How can I stay calm now, Sir Owen? Why does His Highness want to see Shushu?”
Karden, who had been leisurely drinking his coffee, raised one eyebrow in disapproval.
“Yudis, calm down. It’s merely an audience with His Highness the Crown Prince.”
“The purpose seems obvious to me. Could they be summoning Shushu as a healer for His Majesty the King?”
“Don’t make excessive assumptions. His Majesty has his own dedicated priests. His Highness simply wishes to meet Shushu for social purposes.”
Yudis was still upset, suppressing her anger.
I smiled at Yudis, trying to comfort her.

Yudis grabbed my hand and worried about me like a mother leaving her child by the water.
“Shushu. What if you get kidnapped at the royal palace? What if His Highness falls for you at first sight and declares he’ll take you away?”
“It’s alright. His Highness said he wants to see me as a fox.”
Yudis shook her head vigorously in shock.
“That’s even more dangerous! He might take fluffy fox Shushu because you’re cute!”
“Don’t worry. It’ll be fine since His Grace is coming with me.”
Yudis, who turns into such a doting person when it comes to me, is both endearing and sweet.
I held Yudis’s hand firmly and smiled brightly.
Yudis looked at my face and sighed again.
“Ah, how can I possibly send you to the royal palace. I want to keep you right by my side.”
Karden clicked his tongue as if he couldn’t handle Yudis.
“Yudis, you don’t need to worry. Focus on tracking the thugs who attacked Shushu with Owen.”

Yudis gritted her teeth and struck the table with her fist.

Owen looked even more confused.
“Cheer? Do you mean you’re cheering for a competition between me and Lady Yudis?”

Yudis, having finished his conversation with Karden, draped her coat over one shoulder and stood up.

“Shuvelia, be careful at the royal palace. Don’t follow the Crown Prince if he offers you candy.”
I laughed at Yudis treating me like a child.
“Lady Yudis, really. Am I a child who would follow someone offering candy?”
“I’m not worried about you as Shuvelia, but as a fluffy fox. You like sweet things, don’t you?”

Honestly, I can’t refute that. Strangely, when I’m a fox, I desperately want to eat sweet cakes, chocolates, and candies.

“That’s absurd. You did that just for such a reason?”
I questioned Karden in disbelief. Karden’s brow furrowed.
“What’s this, Shuvelia. Are you taking Owen’s side now?”
“I’m not taking sides. It just seems like you deliberately gave orders to torment Owen. Your Grace, I know you can be secretly petty.”
As I crossed my arms and calmly challenged him, Karden’s eyes narrowed.
I clearly saw a dangerous light flash in his blue eyes beneath his long eyelashes.
“I didn’t realize you cared for and valued Owen so much.”
By the time I noticed his voice dropping low and ominous, it was already too late.
“What? Th-that’s not it.”
His large hand grasped my chin.
I reflexively tried to turn my head, but his hand wrapped around the nape of my neck.
“Wait, what are you doing, Your Grace?”
As his long fingers caressed the nape of my neck, I felt heat so intense it was almost burning.
“I don’t like you taking another man’s side in front of me. You need some discipline to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

While I hesitated in confusion, Karden had already pressed his body close to mine.

I tapped the carpet with my soft front paws and looked up at Karden.
“Let’s go see His Highness the Crown Prince. We don’t have time.”
As I looked up at Karden with large, bright eyes, he smiled helplessly, clearly stunned by my transformation.
“You truly are like a fox. I simply cannot win against you.”
