Chapter 44
Lucius buried his face in the nape of Charlotte’s neck and seized her chest.
“Hng, stop… stop it, ah!”
Lucius, who had completely lost his reason, showed no sign of stopping, as if he couldn’t hear Charlotte’s cries to stop. Pushing against his shoulders with all her strength was useless. The more she twisted her body, the more the obvious difference in strength only sapped her own energy.
The moment Lucius’s hand, which had lifted her skirt, touched her secret place, a moan akin to a scream burst from her lips. Though she belatedly clamped her legs together, Lucius easily pried them apart and found her c******s, pinching and twisting it. In that instant, a long finger thrust deep inside the quivering entrance.
“Hak, ahhng…!”
Her inner walls contracted violently at the sudden invasion, causing intense spasms. Charlotte’s knuckles turned white as she desperately clutched Lucius’s shirt. She was dizzy from the staggering sensation of him scraping her tender vaginal folds and thrusting inside.
Though his movements were rough, Lucius, who knew her body better than anyone, persistently caressed exactly the spots that made her feel pleasure. Charlotte shook her head fiercely, straining with all her might not to be swept away by the irresistible waves of pleasure. But the rising heat already had her entire body burning fiercely.
Squelch, squish. Wet sounds came from her slickened s*x. Correspondingly, a damp moisture began to seep into Charlotte’s moans.
“Mmm, ngh, aah! Ah!”
Charlotte floundered in the mind-numbing rush of pleasure. Any longer, and she would surely be swallowed whole. Then everything would be ruined again. She couldn’t return to the starting point without having resolved anything.
Frantically stretching out her hand and groping the floor, she grabbed a handful of letters and threw them in Lucius’s face.
“Lucius!”
Seizing the moment he paused, Charlotte quickly sat up. Pulling up her disheveled clothes, she steadied her rapidly rising and falling chest before fixing him with a sharp glare.
“Are you not even going to listen to what I have to say?”
The person who had been so desperately trying to hold her just moments before seemed to have vanished. Lucius averted his gaze, dropping his head weakly as if all his will had drained away.
“Lucius.”
When no answer came, Charlotte gripped Lucius’s collar firmly with both hands and pulled him toward her. Staring into his frightened eyes beneath disheveled silver hair, she spoke with force.
“I am not leaving you.”
“…….”
“It’s true that I am angry and resentful toward you. But that does not mean I will leave you.”
Charlotte’s gaze moved past Lucius’s shoulder to the letters scattered on the floor.
Even after learning the truth, she hadn’t been able to completely shake off those long-held emotions, but absurdly, upon reading those old letters, they had vanished as if they were a lie.
Now she could be certain. The fact that Lucius Valentin was the same person she had known back then. That he was no different from the boy in her memories, who had grieved while burying his beloved dog, who had sent warm smiles her way.
She still couldn’t see everything that lay beneath those blue eyes, but she could clearly feel Lucius’s love for her. And her own feelings for him, too.
So, wasn’t this enough? Wouldn’t it be okay to look forward to a future together like this?
“…You won’t leave? Charlotte, you know what I’ve done, don’t you?”
As if he couldn’t believe her words, Lucius stammered in a trembling voice.
“Of course it was a terrible accident, but it was a mistake, wasn’t it? It was no one’s fault.”
“…….”
You don’t know. The fact that I killed my brother to have you. The fact that I have been deceiving you all this time.
Plop. A tear fell from Lucius’s eye.
“I’m sorry, Charlotte.”
Relief and guilt. Contradictory emotions tangled together, weighing heavily on his chest. With a painfully contorted face, Lucius struggled to force out his voice.
“I’m sorry.”
Charlotte silently watched him, stroking his reddened eyes. A thought suddenly occurred to her.
‘If that day’s accident hadn’t been a simple mistake, would I have left Lucius?’
Probably not. Charlotte shook her head. Even if she had to shoulder his sin and live atoning for it, she wouldn’t have left his side.
“I will stay by your side. Because I love you. I have since long ago, and that will not change in the future.”
“…….”
