Chapter 5
Heinz froze at Rayliel’s completely unexpected reaction. Seltin and Karin were equally stunned.
“Well, you’re of marriageable age already.”
Heinz finally continued.
“As the elder sister, you must marry first so that your younger sister Seltin can follow. That is the way of nobility.”
Lies.
You plan to sell me for a high price and use that money to expand your power.
Rayliel already knew who Heinz had his eyes on for Seltin’s marriage. Someone far beyond the reach of even the esteemed Adelheit family, a person that would require influence, power, and money to attain.
And I am the one being sold off like a dog to achieve that.
“Duke Delsen has contacted us.”
An old duke, over seventy, a man of power.
“He is very pleased with you. He wants to take you as his concubine.”
Not even as his wife, but as one of his concubines.
“I told you to watch your behavior for the same reason. The Duke likes modest women.”
What the Duke considered modesty was, of course, v*rg*nity. Purity.
Rayliel could still vividly remember.
Her past life, where she was unjustly caught up and met a tragic death. The revolting moments when that old Duke examined her private parts to confirm her v*rg*nity repeatedly, only to get excited and shove his flabby flesh at her.
“What should we do, Father?”
That’s why.
“I am already…”
She had already shared her body with that man.
“In this state.”
Thud.
The thin slip Rayliel was wearing slipped off her fingers, fluttering like a butterfly before it fell to the ground.
Her fair skin, covered with hickeys and bite marks, was blatantly exposed under the bright sunlight.
All eyes turned to Rayliel’s body, which was marked with blooming bruises.
Heinz was too shocked to speak. Karin looked aghast. Seltin, who stared at her with a mix of contempt and mockery in her eyes, was the focus of Rayliel’s thoughts.
‘Never.’
Never again.
‘I will never live such a miserable life again.’
“You…”
Finally, a strange sound, like a cornered rat’s squeak, escaped from Heinz’s lips.
“You… Rayliel… How dare you…!”
“What should we do, Father?”
Rayliel asked with a gentle smile.
“Since my body is already defiled beyond repair, I don’t think I can become Duke Delsen’s concubine.”
“…….”
“As you know, he values purity above all else, doesn’t he?”
“Rayliel…!”
“If you really want to form a connection with the Delsen family, how about this?”
Rayliel’s hand pointed directly at Seltin.
“Unlike me, our Seltin is mature and modest, the very image of a noble lady. Haven’t you praised her countless times for it?”
“W-What are you saying…!”
Seltin jumped up from her seat, her face filled with panic, and tried to shout something, but Rayliel was faster.
She swiftly grabbed Seltin by the collar and looked down at the pale, soft skin visible through the neckline of her dress.
“A modest, untouched v*rg*n.”
“…….”
“Is there anyone more suitable for the Duke than Seltin? I can’t think of anyone better.”
“Rayliel Adelheit!”
Heinz screamed, rising from his seat. He grabbed Rayliel’s wrist with all his might and threw her to the floor.
“Go to your room this instant! Right now!”
You’re planning to send me away and discuss with those wretched women how to revise this ruined plan, aren’t you?
But is there even a solution?
Rayliel was genuinely grateful to the man who had ruined her so completely last night. She slowly stood up.
“Yes, I will.”
She then looked straight at them and continued.
“Let me know when Seltin’s wedding date is set. After all, I’m her only sister. I should at least do something, shouldn’t I?”
