Chapter 41
But… someone like her?
Not fearful of touching her, not looking at her with contempt or disgust?
She still couldn’t believe it, and only felt dazed.
She wanted to hide out of embarrassment, but there was nothing she could do about what had already happened.
Since it had come to this, Prina decided she would not deliberately be ashamed of it.
And aside from having desired each other, there was another ticklish memory.
“Beautiful. Just like pitch-black night.”
He had said that her black hair was beautiful. Just like pitch-black night.
It was the first time in her life she had ever heard such words.
“…The night is beautiful? Not scary?”
“Yes, it’s beautiful. It can only be beautiful.”
When Prina, unable to believe it at once, asked again, he told her clearly, as if to engrave it in her.
“How could a night like you possibly be scary?”
It was such an incredibly sweet thing to say. The chocolate he had bought her was sweet, and his lips were sweet, but…
The words that came from his lips were the sweetest of all.
Just recalling them now was so sweet it made her shiver.
Her chest swelled tightly. She felt like stomping her feet in place.
But then Hunter would wake up, so she had to hold back.
Prina pressed down her excited heart and quietly wiggled only her toes.
Carefully, she reached out and touched his full lips. The sensation against her fingertips was warm and soft.
Thinking that these were the lips that had whispered she was beautiful made her lower belly ticklish.
It still didn’t feel real that these lips had bitten and sucked every inch of her body.
Prina shifted her gaze to his hair.
‘I want to touch it.’
The moment the thought occurred, she reached out as if bewitched.
That she didn’t even hesitate was unlike her, but it felt like there would be no chance if not now, so she decided to muster her courage.
The feeling twining around her fingers was soft.
Hair black as ebony. Hair just like her own.
“…Beautiful.”
The words slipped out as if she were spellbound.
Because he had said it was beautiful.
“Just like pitch-black night.”
Because he had told her that pitch-black night wasn’t scary but beautiful.
Prina was still afraid of the night, but she had come to know that night could be beautiful.
That alone was enough.
And beautiful things were not limited to just that.
His long neck line was beautiful, and his broad, firm chest was beautiful.
And on his right arm, something she had never known until now…
“……!”
There was a black snake tattoo. From his shoulder down to the back of his hand. Long.
Why had she never noticed it at all? She had even seen his bare body in the beginning.
She must have been too frightened to really look.
Now that she could examine him closely, it seemed she had grown a little more accustomed to him.
Prina thought so.
“Beautiful.”
Prina murmured without realizing it as her fingertips traced up the snake tattoo.
Honestly, black snake or not.
It was a fearsome-looking tattoo, but because of that, it suited Hunter very well.
As her fingers slid up his arm and touched the bandage on his shoulder, Prina flinched in surprise.
‘Ah, this isn’t the time for this. I need to check the wound. The wound…!’
Remembering the task she had momentarily forgotten, Prina startled and tried to rise—
But was pressed back down by firm strength.
“Where are you going.”
Hunter asked with his eyes closed. She had thought he was asleep. So he had been awake.
“You should answer, Prina.”
“I-I was just… going to check your wound.”
“Really?”
Suddenly her view flipped and she was buried into the bedding.
Hunter was now in a position looming over her as if to pounce.
The suddenness of it made Prina flustered and panic.
“You can check it from here.”
“P-Please, you shouldn’t strain yourself!”
When he once again lowered his upper body, Prina tightly shut her eyes and cried out.
“What do you mean?”
“If you move, the wound will open. And sweat or water getting in isn’t good, either…”
“It was fine last night. Why didn’t you stop me then?”
Hunter raised his brows as he asked.
‘Ah, that’s true.’
But last night had been too sudden. And to be honest, she had liked it so much that she hadn’t even thought of stopping him.
Still, an excuse was only an excuse.
‘How foolish. If it was my fault, I shouldn’t quibble. How shameless of me.’
She felt self-reproach, but saying it outright was embarrassing. It seemed better to skirt around it.
“L-Last night… I didn’t know you’d go that far, so I couldn’t stop you.”
“I see.”
Under his appraising gaze, Prina felt a little awkward.
Though Hunter accepted her explanation without argument, he still pinned her within his arms as if trapping her, not moving.
…Why is he doing that?
“Instead, I have one favor to ask.”
“A favor?”
“Mm.”
For the first time, Hunter spoke of a favor on his own.
Even without her begging him to tell her what he needed.
…Oh no! Her heart began pounding.
“I want to wash. But with my shoulder like this…”
Prina’s blue eyes widened.
“Would you help me?”
Helping him bathe in the washroom…
That was Hunter’s second request.
