Chapter 62
But surprisingly, his brother hadn’t been very angry. He even personally nursed him for several days. Though he couldn’t remember much due to the high fever, he recalled his brother giving him medicine.
That thick liquid with its terrible taste that lingered on his tongue before sliding down his throat – it was the taste of his daily prescribed medicine. He remembered his brother helping him take it multiple times despite his groaning protests.
Despite his harsh words, his brother worried about him and even took care of him when sick. It made his heart flutter. Initially, he thought his brother’s inability to properly remember him would be painful for a while, but it turned out better than expected.
After these thoughts, he weakly forced his eyes open. He was still in his brother’s room, but his brother wasn’t nearby. The bedding was soft, and the simple nightgown, though like a sack, felt clean and comfortable. The evidence of someone’s care was clear in his weakened state.
Ja-hyun looked around and checked the clock. 2 PM… The room was dimly lit. Seeing bright light filtering through the thick curtains, it must be daytime outside. With barely any light entering the room, he seemed to have slept soundly until now.
As soon as he tried to rise, a quest notification window flickered like a warning.

[Find ‘Planche Enestia’ and ‘Lucas Blade’]
[Time remaining: 9 days 6 hours 11 minutes]
“Hah…”
Ja-hyun covered his face with his hands and sank into thought.
There were several things he had guessed before meeting the Prince for the second time.
First, this period wasn’t the starting point of the original story. In the original work, Planche was 18 years old at the beginning. When her family fell into ruin, following her grandfather’s will, she went to the magic kingdom of Silveron to find the fiancé he had arbitrarily arranged for her, and there she encountered Lucas.
However, Lucas still harbored resentment from being looked down upon as a merchant’s child by Planche’s parents, so he didn’t particularly like her… Well, setting aside all those details, they ended up staying there regardless.
‘That’s why I started having suspicions when I heard reports that Planche and Lucas weren’t where they were supposed to be. But since the original work never specified exact years, it was just a hunch. Even using ‘Script Check’ didn’t give me immediate answers.’
‘Plus, after staying in brother’s room, I had even fewer options… made things quite difficult.’
Before meeting the Prince, he had first requested books and newspapers from the library, constantly reading and comparing them with what he knew. Using several event clues from the original work, he confirmed definitively that this was indeed the past.
In the original timeline, there was an event celebrating the current Emperor’s 100th year of reign. However, the newspapers here were filled with speculations about how grand the founding festival would be for His Majesty’s 90th year on the throne.
And finally, the continental railway and company name the Prince mentioned. His 99% certainty became 100% after hearing about those.
‘Damn. No wonder Planche and Lucas weren’t there.’
Ten years in the past….
Though shocking and perplexing, it wasn’t all bad. Thanks to this, he could connect the Prince with someone who would become famous in the future regarding Litrel. If this had been the original story’s starting point, that professor wouldn’t have fallen for the Prince’s provocation so easily.
Earning both points and items made it worthwhile. As a bonus, he’d greatly improved that stubborn Prince’s favorability too.
‘Nothing to be done about it now. Just have to do what I can…’
Eight-year-old Planche and Lucas would both still be residing in the Empire’s capital. That was their hometown, after all.
Ja-hyun slowly pulled back the bedding while planning to either use the Prince to bring them here or arrange a meeting halfway. Stumbling as he got out of bed, he made his way toward the bathroom.
He needed to wash his face and clear his head. Since entering this body, even washing had been handled by servants, making this situation feel awkward. But it wasn’t bad. Perhaps because he was recovering from illness, his mood was quite good.
Happiness really is relative, after all. When you’ve been sick for a long time, just walking on your own feet can feel moving. After spending over a year here and returning to his original body, he might feel like he’s been reborn.
He carefully moved his feet to avoid falling as he reached the bathroom.
Whoosh- the faucet, surprisingly modern for this era, poured out lukewarm water. Though he would have preferred it warmer, this wasn’t bad either.
He began washing his face, his body creaking like a wooden block.
