Chapter 23
‘You’re not lonely.’
Such an emotional statement was something only a human could make. If someone in the Demon Realm said something like that, they would instantly be branded weak.
‘…It seems Rumpel’s worries were unfounded after all.’
There was no way such a foolish human woman could betray or deceive him.
Her pale blue eyes, soft like the surface of a lake, met his gaze. Above those innocent eyes, hair drifted like midday sunlight. Exactly as she was, she looked so pitiful it made him smile.
“Lord Asmod, were you glad to meet me too?”
Theticia in the dream asked with a shy face.
“Of course I was. A mana pouch like you isn’t easy to come by.”
She didn’t lose her composure, not even her reason. She looked straight at his face. That alone broke through Asmod’s long-held fastidiousness.
“…Mana pouch, huh.”
Theticia’s shoulders slumped, somehow feeling disappointed. Her honest reaction broke Asmod’s calm. He quickly raised his hand.
‘I’ve heard all the answers I need. No reason to soothe her.’
When Asmod gently nudged her forehead with an outstretched finger, Theticia fell backward, floating as if suspended in the air.
An indescribably soft sensation wrapped around her whole body.
“When you wake up, you will forget all about meeting me in your dream.”
“Lord Asmod…”
Her sleep-heavy voice was buried in a warm pile of wool. As Theticia gazed at him in a daze, deep sleep came over her face.
The ownerless dream began to crumble the surrounding scenery bit by bit.
“Why does that woman look like you?”
From among the melting nobles, a red-haired man raised his head. A man with golden eyes full of desire smiled slyly.
“You’re in a relatively better position. Thanks to your monstrous mana, no one insults you to your face as a half-baked Archduke.”
He was not someone Theticia knew. Asmod’s memory mingled in the space where the dream’s owner had vanished.
“Disappear, Mammon.”
Asmod waved his hand, and the man dispersed like smoke.
Yet Mammon once again reared his head among the gentlemen farther away. He hissed like a snake as he whispered.
“An Archduke who can’t even control the mana he has, and a mana pouch with nothing but a big chest. A well-matched pair. If not for His Majesty’s grace, you would never have ascended to the Archduke’s seat. Just a mere substitute for Belial.”
Mammon’s form, fixed in a glare at Asmod, vanished again with a rough flick of the hand. He knew it was only his subconscious bleeding through but the revulsion was no less real.
“A dream without its owner collapses easily after all.”
Clicking his tongue lightly, Asmod moved through the crowd. The moment he stepped out of the ballroom, the entire scene melted away like snow.

The days spent at the Archduke’s residence were so peaceful that all worries seemed pointless.
Theticia chose from an array of delicacies she had never seen before for every meal and spent her days looking at a book on the flora and fauna of the Demon Realm brought by Asmod. Since she couldn’t read the language of the demons, Jess would read it to her. Each day was filled with new knowledge and wonder.
‘Is this really the Demon Realm, or is it some kind of heaven? If I had gone to Kraven, I would have been anxiously worried about being taken away and confined at home. Here, there’s no need to watch my step.’
By this point, Theticia couldn’t help but seriously compare this life to the time she spent at the Viscount’s Estate. Perhaps this was how an artist felt after gaining a patron. Aside from the physiological unease of being in the Demon Realm, it was an incredibly leisurely life.
Moreover, the nights she had worried about most were more bearable than she expected. No, it was better to say she had come to enjoy them.
“Ughh, hoohh, Lord Asmod…! Just a little slower! Aahh!”
Asmod firmly held Theticia’s waist as she writhed and twisted her body.
“You seem to be getting used to it. You even started taking it easy to match your pace.”
Asmod’s whisper was gentle as their bodies pressed closely together, sticky with heat. The skilled movements probing inside made Theticia emit heated moans.
“Aahh, hmm, there…!”
“Yes, right there.”
His head, hard like a hazelnut, pounded relentlessly against her sensitive spot. The stimulation on her delicate, tender flesh spread through her entire body. That strange sensation, an intense pleasure, swept swiftly through her body.
