Chapter 151
A bold crimson slip. Wearing this, she seemed like she wasn’t her usual self, and it looked markedly different from the previous one. The chest area was decorated with transparent floral lace without lining… so her two shyly protruding n*****s were clearly visible. As if these things showing through the slip were also flowers.
At least the slip was a deep crimson color, so the inside showed less clearly, which was fortunate. If it had been white, she definitely wouldn’t have been able to wear it. Where else were the embarrassing parts, she wondered as she swayed her body and turned her head to see her back, erasing her flushed thoughts.
‘What did I think was fortunate? I could never face Lord Cassis wearing this…’
Click.
The door she thought she had closed properly opened smoothly as if by magic. And beyond that door, she could see Cassis standing tall. He hadn’t put his hand on the door handle, and this situation was entirely due to Evelyn’s carelessness. It was a catastrophe caused by closing it too gently and, in her haste, failing to confirm that it had closed completely.
“Uh, uhh…”
“Evelyn?”
Their eyes met.
Before she could even think “What should I do,” he had already stepped inside. Having been caught doing something more indecent than any wrongdoing, she desperately wished there was a mouse hole in the corner where she could at least stick her head in and hide. It was too late for regret, and in the end, only the two of them were left.
He walked with big strides to the middle of the bedroom.
“……”
What should she really do? Evelyn reached out to belatedly cover her chest area, then realized that she couldn’t possibly cover all the embarrassing aspects of this slip that was only the size of his palm, and took a step backward.
He opened his mouth in a very calm tone.
“Evelyn, you’ll fall if you do that. There’s your luggage behind you.”
Right, that’s true. Books and the belongings she had brought were scattered on the floor. Blaming herself for showing him her disheveled state, she hurriedly turned around.
“Yes!”
Then his eyes could see the spectacular rear view of the crimson slip in its full glory. As if to clearly show that this was not underwear made for comfortable wearing, a small, fragile-looking silver hook glinted in the middle section connecting the back. He remained standing still without approaching and spoke to her again.
“You can leave the luggage. I promised I wouldn’t touch anything if you didn’t want me to….”
Ignoring his considerate words, she bent down to pick up a book—only to misstep barefoot on the slipper she had slipped out of while putting on her nightgown, twisting her ankle. Just as she began to tilt precariously, he rushed forward and caught Evelyn effortlessly.
From the palm that lifted her, the silver hook let out a faint clink, as if begging not to be forgotten.
No other words were needed at this moment. If he were to ask whether she had worn this slip to seduce him, the answer would have been yes. The events that had occurred on her way here had unsettled her already wavering heart, and she had hidden the embarrassing slip tightly, not wanting Cassis—who knew nothing—to discover it, especially after nearly being caught carrying it by Daius, its creator.
But…
Perhaps, on this final day, she had secretly hoped to be seen like this, even if by chance. Though the order of things had ended up absurdly reversed.
‘So this was what I wanted—to give him a gift.’
Finally glimpsing the truth within her own heart, Evelyn smiled awkwardly in his arms.
“…Evelyn.”
His blue gaze trailed downward, past her pale face and the shy blush blooming on her cheeks, over the delicate shoulders of the slip, and along the fabric that barely covered her thighs. Click—the silver hook, now gripped in his hand, let out another sound, crying out once more. At the same time, Evelyn’s lips parted boldly.
“Take me to the bed….”
Her sudden request was granted without difficulty. Cassis, maneuvering around the scattered objects, carried her to the bed—then demanded payment for the wish he had just fulfilled.
“Turn around.”
Still seated, she quietly turned her body, presenting her back to him. And there it was—the mischievous hook trapping the crimson slip that clung so tightly to her skin.
“How should I undo it?”
His voice, slightly rough despite having drunk nothing, echoed hazily in Evelyn’s ears. On the verge of being swept away by the desire burning within him, she answered in a trembling voice.
“Do you… have to undo it?”
“Hmm. Did you want me to touch you while you were still wearing it? How careless of me.”
Only after hearing his self-reproaching words did she realize her mistake. What in the world did I just say?! Shameless, disgraceful, Evelyn! How was this any different from confessing that she’d left the door loosely shut on purpose, desperate to provoke him?
She couldn’t let him misunderstand. Flustered, Evelyn hastily corrected herself.
“N-no, that’s not what I meant! Actually, I was going to wear this slip to sleep, but not like this….”
Cassis cut off her excuses with a single remark.
“You can wear that plenty tomorrow during the day. Fine—I’ll trust your bold choice.”
