Chapter 192
I would either hear a cold rejection saying he had no intention of playing such trivial games with me, or… it would end with an apology for making me misunderstand. And then, after being left alone on the second floor, I would cry buckets until the carpet laid on the floor would be pushed all the way to the hallway….
The reason I kept misunderstanding was because all the consideration Cassis showed was so sincere. When I recalled the time he had the opportunity to coldly cast her out, when she had run out the castle gates with her own feet but he had come chasing after her not long after, my heart would swell up.
I want to believe. He makes me want to believe, the man before my eyes.
“I… am….”
His hand fully opened the drawer she had just closed. Among all kinds of gems of unknown names and colors, he moved several aside and picked out one hanging on a gold chain.
What sparkled in the man’s palm was a type of stone Evelyn had never seen before. Though it wasn’t the deep red of a ruby, she couldn’t take her eyes off its noble and beautiful color that reminded her of blazing flames. Looking closely, it seemed to resemble Ruva’s eye color a little too.
“Stay still.”
He opened the hook and put the necklace around her neck, then led her to the mirror. Only then did she finally see that the gem hanging around her neck was crafted into a heart shape.
She was fidgeting with the gold chain with her fingers when he bent his waist and pushed his head into the mirror.
“It’s an opal. Among gems it’s fragile, so it shouldn’t be left under sunlight for long and must avoid water, dust, and sweat, but this one is fine. It’s enchanted so it won’t be damaged easily.”
“Opal…?”
As expected, it was the first time she’d heard of it. In her opinion, it wasn’t a gem with high recognition so she hadn’t known about it, but she quite liked its rare color.
“That’s right.”
He suddenly embraced her from behind. The woman’s face in the mirror trembled endlessly, agitated by the man’s arms wrapping around her. Soon, her closed lips parted.
“…I really thought I was going to be led out of the Hall of Glory just like this.”
“No.”
He replied gently, without anger. His fingers bypassed the opal and lightly grasped her left b****t. Her breath, quickly growing ragged from their first s****l contact in a long time, fell onto the back of his hand.
His leg pushed between her thighs, audaciously propping up her v***a and extending forward. The feeling of him grinding against her there while she was embraced by him was so e****c it made her want to give in to her desires then and there.
Evelyn urgently tried to push away the fingers gripping her b****t, pressing down the urge to spread her legs. Pressed so intimately against him now, she was afraid that the scent of his body would make her act wantonly at any moment. It was too ugly, that feeling. She liked him… but when they touched like this, she couldn’t control the desire to tumble with him, even for a moment.
“Just… just a moment. I… I’m a little reluctant like this.”
“You’re beautiful.”
“There was a dress I wanted to show you, so I was actually wearing it. But you said you’d be late today, so I was disappointed and took it off.”
Even though she babbled incoherently, he didn’t seem bothered and answered her every word. He completely ignored the futile tugging of her fingers on his thick ones.
“You mean that lavender one in the corner? I saw it. It doesn’t matter anyway, if you came up here, I would’ve taken it off you just the same.”
“B-but…”
“I know what the dress looks like, so consider it taken off.”
“Just a moment…!”
Her pleas were vainly buried by his rough gestures. The hand that had been gripping and kneading her b****t unbuttoned a few buttons and pulled back the fabric, quickly leaving Evelyn naked. And yet, the leg that had burrowed between her thighs, firmly supporting her intimate place, remained in place.
No, this wouldn’t do. If she got excited like this, her nether regions would get wet and probably stain his pants. Evelyn tried to cover her body with her hands, clinging to her dizzying senses.
But it was no use. He had expertly stripped off her clothes, yet he left the opal necklace he had placed on her. Its dazzling, burning color made the n*****s peeking out beneath it look even more luscious. At least, that’s how it looked in his eyes reflected in the mirror.
As his gaze in the mirror intensified, she too gasped, and their eyes met. Their desire for each other was so overwhelming that she didn’t know what to do with herself, a stark contrast to when they simply faced each other. Just as she habitually twisted her body, her c******s pressed firmly against his leg, and Evelyn let out a moan.
“Ah!”
“Did you want it to happen quickly?”
He was openly watching her in the mirror, and she was completely naked except for the necklace, while he was fully clothed, making it even more embarrassing. Evelyn, having made an obvious mistake, bent her waist and denied it.
“H-huh, no, um…”
