“Payne, no, Father Payne, please look at me.”

Payne gasped heavily as another voice echoed in the supposedly empty room and turned his head sharply.

Soon, a woman came into his view, her brown hair shining and her pale face lit up by the sunlight streaming through the window. The worry and anxiety etched in her features were unfamiliar, but that wasn’t what mattered.

“Don’t… look…”
