Chapter 150
Duvalkan’s pleas grew longer.
Although he was exposing himself and spilling liquid, Ashtel, who already had a soft side to her, couldn’t help but slightly lower the corners of her mouth.
‘Hmm, what should I do?’
To be honest, Duvalkan’s death didn’t matter much to her.
But seeing him beg so desperately in front of Payne, she began to worry about whether it would hurt his feelings.
Finally, Ashtel sighed and bent forward.
Her alluring chest came together, and her sharp gaze softened.
Duvalkan unconsciously swallowed and quickly alternated his gaze between Ashtel’s face and below her neck.
“I don’t plan to corrupt you.”
“That means…”
“Just visit the demon realm, erase your memory, and leave. After that, live as if nothing ever happened.”
“Really? You won’t even touch me?”
Well, she probably would, but that would be her sister Juvia.
Ashtel nodded, swallowing those words.
“I won’t leave any trace of magic. Is that alright?”
Was this something to be thankful for? Or just acceptable?
Duvalkan twitched his lips, but as soon as Ashtel poked his forehead with her finger, he came to his senses.
“Are you listening? I’m letting you go.”
“Ah, yes, well… Thank you?”
“Paladin. You’re cheeky.”
This time, the hammer of retribution came immediately.
Duvalkan groaned, lowering his head after being struck by Jo’s mighty fist.
“Sis, then I’ll leave him to you.”
“Alright.”
“Things didn’t go as expected… but you can’t let him die. Understood?”
“Got it. I can’t promise to protect him.”
“Thanks, Sis.”
Ashtel hugged Jo, and her previously stony face softened into a gentle expression, her eyes closing warmly.
“If he dies, I’ll contact you.”
Though her words were far from affectionate.
“Mm. Alright.”
Still, it was rare for Jo to offer to make contact first.
‘At least there’s that.’
Now, there was only one thing left for Ashtel to take care of.
“Payne…”
He had been watching Ashtel and Duvalkan’s confrontation with sharp eyes since earlier.
‘I didn’t want to show him this side of me.’
If any other sisters had seen, they would have been pleased, saying she was more demonic than ever, but Ashtel wanted to remain a person capable of sharing love, not just a demon, in front of Payne.
Someone they could pour affection onto, someone to be with.
Although she still didn’t fully understand humanity, she knew that acting like a demon wouldn’t help in forming such a relationship.
“…Are you taking Duvalkan right now?”
“Yes. There’s no time to waste.”
If they knew Duvalkan was gone, the temple would start to suspect her.
It seemed like they would need to move their hideout soon.
Then, an idea suddenly crossed Ashtel’s mind, and she turned to Payne.
“Payne, did you hear? They’re looking for you a lot at the temple. Isn’t that strange?”
Payne also thought it was odd, but he composed his expression.
“Well, a priest who grew up there suddenly disappears. It makes sense they’d be looking for him.”
“Really? They say the high-ranking humans are looking for you.”
“Is that strange?”
“…Isn’t it?”
“I wouldn’t know.”
If Payne said it wasn’t strange, it might not be.
Ashtel scratched her head, confused, while Payne glanced over at Jo, standing near Duvalkan, before whispering to her.
“I’d like to say goodbye to Sir Duvalkan before he leaves. Can we have some time alone to talk?”
“What? Why just you two?”
“Well…”
“Are you two that close?”
“Yes?”
“You were always together at the temple, too!”
That was probably because of Ashtel.
But Payne was so taken aback that he couldn’t think of another response and just looked at Ashtel.
“Does that really matter?”
“…Of course it does!”
It seemed Payne didn’t realize that jealousy could arise even between the same s*x.
Ashtel pouted, but she knew that for humans, meetings and partings were important moments.
Hadn’t her sister mentioned that while talking about human emotions?
In the end, Ashtel sighed deeply and gave Jo a glance.
“Sis, can you step aside for a moment?”
“Really?”
“Yeah, because Payne wants it.”
“Sue, you’re too soft.”
“No, this much is fine.”
“Not at all.”
But the usually tough Jo was already moving as Ashtel wished.
She lifted Duvalkan, that was tied to a chair, like a doll and threw him into the bedroom. Ashtel gave her a strange look, asking why the bedroom and then the two of them went into the kitchen to wait for them.
“Sis, when you get to the demon realm, give Duval to Sis Hela.”
“Hela? Why?”
“I went to Sis Juvia to erase Payne’s memory before. She’ll probably guide you well if she understands the situation.”
“Alright, I get it.”
Thankfully, Jo didn’t show any unnecessary jealousy like the other sisters and agreed.
‘By the way… Duval’s body was surprisingly solid. Is that how all knights are? Sis Hela will probably like him.’
With just elf ears added, he’d be just her type.
With those muscles, and that innocence… Wait, he’s definitely innocent, right? Based on his reactions, he was completely innocent.
‘I didn’t know he had a thing for being dominated. This might be something Sis Moa would like.’
Is it okay to send him to the demon realm?
