Chapter 172
Maybe it was because this demon scolded Moablon all throughout the torture.
Jo, a succubus, had only folded her arms and watched, so Hela was the one who effectively stopped Moablon.
‘If it’s this demon, she’ll protect me.’
Duvalkan bit his lip and grabbed Hela’s hand. Thankfully, his healthy body trembled but still functioned despite the prolonged s****l torture.
Moablon had been careful to avoid damaging his limbs.
Escorted by Hela, Duvalkan left Moablon’s territory and was suddenly stopped by a violent gust of wind.
“Ugh.”
What now?
Please, he wished it would all end. A frustrated desire climbed inside him like a crawling itch.
“Hela, Carmen coming.”
“I see her too.”
Unlike the anxious Duvalkan, Jo and Hela calmly gazed upward.
Far off, Carmen flapped her large leathery wings as she descended.
She rarely left the lab, so for her to appear suddenly meant she had urgent business.
‘Is this because of her?’
As soon as he arrived in the demon realm, he had been given a tool from Carmen to suppress demonic energy. Otherwise, he wouldn’t survive here for more than a few days.
Hela glanced at Duvalkan, then pushed him behind her—making him feel safe once more—and asked Carmen,
“Why did you come out all of a sudden? I thought you were busy lately.”
“I think something big happened to Sue.”
“Sue? Why?”
Moablon perked up at the familiar name.
Duvalkan, quietly listening behind Hela, perked up his ears.
An urgent conversation followed, with voices hushed to avoid drawing attention.
“The tool she was using got trapped inside the divine barrier.”
“What? The temple’s?”
“Seems like it. No signals, no communication.”
“Divine barrier—a ward used to keep demons at bay.”
“Right. I think Sue’s been captured.”
The adorable youngest Asti sister, loved and cherished by all—Ashtel Asti—had been caught by the priest.
Hela’s mouth slowly opened.
“Sister… Sister Sermedes?”
“We have to tell her immediately.”
“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!”
Hela, Jo, and even Moablon spread their wings and stirred up a strong wind.
But Carmen hesitated a moment before adding,
“What if Sister Sermedes appears in the human realm?”
“That would…”
“Who cares? Sue is in danger!”
Moablon flailed her arms in anger.
“How dare a mere human touch Sue?!”
Her body grew rapidly until fully adult-sized, radiating a deadly aura.
“If anyone lays a finger on Sue, I’ll tear them apart.”
“…Agreed.”
Jo nodded silently, showing her power. But Hela agreed with Carmen’s concern.
“If Sister Sermedes manifests in the human realm, things will spiral out of control. We have to prevent that.”
“Then do we rescue Sue ourselves?”
“No… our powers aren’t suited for temple infiltration.”
Hela controlled monsters; Jo had keen eyesight; Moablon had age manipulation; Carmen was highly intelligent.
Though all were powerful, none could perfectly disguise themselves as a human like Ashtel to fool the temple.
What was the solution?
“Let’s call Bice and Nluie.”
Moablon’s eyes gleamed fiercely as she spoke.
“If we go to the human realm with them, we can safely rescue Sue.”
“Good idea.”
Bice was the fourth Asti sister, a nickname for Beatrice, with the power of mind control.
Nluie was the ninth sister, whose ability was sleep induction.
‘If we put everyone to sleep and control their minds, we can infiltrate unnoticed.’
Hela nodded, and Carmen quickly agreed.
“Normally, they’re hard to deal with, but this is about Sue, so they’ll come through.”
“Agreed.”
With swift consensus, they prepared to leave. Duvalkan, left behind, stood dumbfounded before hurriedly following.
“Wait! I’m coming too!”
“Oh right.”
“Should we entrust him to Sister Juvia?”
“Good idea.”
Like Sermedes, Juvia couldn’t leave the human realm due to her overwhelming presence.
She preferred staying still and only lived in dreams, so there was little worry about trouble, but for this matter, she might cause a fuss to save Ashtel.
“If we have her watch the human, it should be fine. And Nluie will keep the humans she puts to sleep in her dreams.”
“Good plan.”
Though what exactly was a ‘good plan,’ no one could say.
Duvalkan racked his foggy brain, trying to figure out the situation.
‘…Could Van have found Miss Maid?’
If so, they might be a bit late.
He was someone who never spared a captured demon.
