Chapter 180
‘…Sue’s in danger?’
Beatrice, with her long, dense black hair and cold, lifeless eyes, was known as the recluse succubus—rarely leaving her domain. But as sensitive as Liz, she was dragged along with Nluie, who was out for a walk, down to the human realm.
Thus, Hela and Jo—who had been with Duvalkan originally—Moablon, Carmen who brought the news of Ashtel’s crisis, Matys from the neighboring domain, and the needed abilities of Beatrice and Nluie all gathered, making seven demons in the human realm.
Hearing the rough outline, Ashtel staggered in disbelief.
‘Well, at least Sis Seri didn’t come.’
If Sermedes or Juvia had come, the area would have been turned upside down.
Humans would go mad under demonic energy, Mediale would dispatch battalions detecting the great demon’s presence.
Glad it hadn’t come to that.
“Carmen, you knew from the start that it was Roman on the communication, right?”
“Yes, I did.”
Although she only said, ‘Yes, Sis, it’s me,’ there was a witty side that Ashtel didn’t usually have.
If Ashtel knew, she’d puff her cheeks, so Carmen passed it off as being quick-witted and moved on.
“So, what happened? The temple bastards? The knights?”
“They’re gone. It’s fine now. But we might need your help.”
Ashtel explained everything in detail.
She mentioned how Payne fell ill and came down to the village, was put on a wanted list, she was almost made to drink holy water by Ban.
Each of them was outraged.
“We’ll tear those humans apart…”
Nluie, floating beside Beatrice, ground her teeth, her eyes glowing red.
Though born small and fairy-like, Nluie was a terrifying demon too.
Her ability was death-like sleep, trapping a person not just for a day but their entire life in dreams.
“Anyway, if Payne came down to this village, the knights might have caught him. So we have to hurry and rescue him!”
“Got it. We’ll help too.”
Eight succubi gathered to save one human.
Disguised simultaneously by Carmen’s magical tools, they headed in the direction Ashtel indicated, but soon encountered something suspicious.
‘This isn’t the temple?’
The place they arrived at was a rundown farmer’s barn.
After swiftly putting the mercenaries and merchants standing guard to sleep, Ashtel finally found Payne—being harassed by several women.
“Payne!”
At the brink of a tragic climax, Payne met his salvation—Ashtel.
She immediately used magic to knock out the maids.
Though he pleaded desperately to be released, Payne fell heavily onto the straw, panting.
“You okay? Payne, snap out of it!”
His condition worsened. The makeshift fever medicine Ashtel gave him had long since lost effect.
Moreover, judging by how stiff he was below, his lust was still ongoing despite the pain.
Worse still, Ashtel hesitated, then spoke to Carmen beside her.
“Sis, Payne’s condition is strange. His corruption seems to have worsened.”
“Yes. Seems his divine power has drained.”
“Divine power? Ah…”
Only then did Ashtel realize Payne hadn’t prayed once since arriving at the cabin.
Apparently, the environment was too bad to demand divine power from Katzel.
Still, she thought his innate divine power was like an endless river and would be fine, but what happened?
“First, we need to deal with this.”
Hela stepped up behind Carmen, pointing at Payne’s g***n.
Still conscious, Payne covered himself with a mutter, his ears blazing red.
“Wow, this is Payne? Sue’s man?”
Nluie fluttered over, eyes gleaming.
Beatrice, seeing Payne for the first time, twisted her black hair and glanced over.
“It’s Sue’s taste.”
“Sure is!”
“Everyone, step back. Someone might come. Keep watch outside.”
The eldest, Moablon, took charge of organizing the situation. She approached Ashtel in the form of a child and whispered,
“Hey, Sue. If this keeps up, his life’s in danger.”
