After a fierce s-x with Payne, Ashtel found herself needing to recuperate. It seemed like there was a problem with her ability to absorb vital energy and regulate her pheromones.
“Ugh, why does it keep leaking out?”
It was unusual for her to leak pheromones like a cracked jar without having absorbed an excessive amount of vital energy.
In this condition, she couldn’t possibly go to Payne.
That night, while she was stuck at the cottage, Hella found her.
“Ashtel Asti. Where are you?”
Hella was clearly furious.
‘Oh no.’
Startled, Ashtel jumped out of the cottage. As expected, Hella was there, her red hair flying wildly, even her horns that she rarely shows were raised high as she screamed.
“Don’t you have something to tell me?!”
“H-Hella, sis!”
“I thought you’d crossed the line when I held off for a few days?!”
A devil’s roar affects the mortal realm. Dark clouds formed around Hella, floating in midair, and fierce winds swirled around.
As Ashtel scrambled to calm her sister, Hella’s bright yellow eyes suddenly hardened.
“What’s this?”
“Did I leave a snare… huh?”
“Sue, have you awakened?”
“Uh?”
The storm of anger subsided.
Suddenly, Hella was gaping at Ashtel, flying around her, sniffing the air and then inspecting her protruding wings and tail before exclaiming.
“My goodness, Sue. You’ve undergone a second awakening?”
“Really?!”
“You didn’t know?”
“No!”
A second awakening.
Devils typically go through two major growth phases: the first and second awakenings.
After being born, they immediately enter a survival battle. If they manage to keep breathing for about a year without any power, they undergo their first awakening.
They continue to commit evil deeds, develop their abilities, and grow in size until they reach the time for their second awakening.
The timing varies by species, but for succubi like Ashtel, it usually takes about a hundred years. Her sisters had been nonchalantly paying attention as her time approached.
“No way, how could you not know?!”
When devils undergo their second awakening, they often can’t control their surging powers and end up causing destruction around them.
Hella herself had caused a big fight when she destroyed several of Carmen’s experimental bases during her second awakening.
“So, you don’t feel the power? You don’t feel your growth?”
“Um, I… I don’t know.”
Faced with this ridiculous situation, Hella pressed her hand to her forehead.
Ashtel looked bewildered, examining her own body until it suddenly clicked.
“So, is that why I can’t control my pheromones?”
“What? You can’t control them?”
“Yeah. Since I slept with Payne, suddenly…”
“You slept with him?!”
“Oh, right. I did sleep with Payne.”
Ashtel waved her hand proudly, causing Hella to sigh deeply.
“Are you coming back home then?”
“That’s… actually, I think something’s off with Payne.”
It seemed that Carmen hadn’t mentioned this to Hella. Usually, her sisters would share every tiny bit of her business, making this a rare occurrence.
‘I guess it’s because I threatened to tell our oldest sister.’
If Sermedes found out about the breach between dimensions, it was plausible enough.
Ashtel quickly explained the situation, leading Hella to exclaim in shock.
“That’s from your second awakening pheromone overload, isn’t it?”
“Huh?”
“Given that you’re having trouble controlling your pheromones, you might have inadvertently released too much at that time.”
“….Oh, right?!”
“That’s why that human with a pheromone overreaction is suffering even more.”
“Ahh!”
She hadn’t considered that. It turned out she had awakened, and Payne was suffering because of the aftermath.
“And with Katzel’s doctrine suppressing his s****l desires, it’s like he’s being tortured to death by arousal.”
“No, Payne won’t die!”
“He doesn’t mas—bate either.”
Well, he had, but only in a way that blocked any real climax.
Ashtel paced anxiously, then suddenly clapped her hands as an idea struck her.
“I could use transformation magic in the temple, you know? Maybe that’s also because of my awakening?”
“What?! You used magic in the temple?!”
“Yeah. No one noticed, right?”
“Really, your nerve!”
Hella leapt up as if to smack Ashtel on the back, but Ashtel dodged swiftly.
She then turned serious.
“So, to save Payne, I must make sure he eja–lates, right?”
“Are you not coming here?!”
“I need to find a way. Sister, I think I need to stay in the human world longer.”
“So you want Sermedes to get angry at us? Is that what you want?”
