So the very next day, Payne was given permission to return to the human world.
Not just Hela, but all of Ashtel’s sisters practically begged her to go back. The reason was simple: even with Carmen’s magic tool, staying long in the demon realm just wasn’t healthy for a human.
A day or two was more than enough, they insisted, especially now that she had a real home to return to.
That’s why Payne planned to leave the mansion tomorrow morning, relieved at the thought that tonight would be his last dealing with troublesome demons and intimidating sisters.
Of course, there was hardly time to savor that relief—he was about to have another passionate night.
