Lysian’s days were a mountain of paperwork and a chain of tasks. It was such a grueling schedule that even Aslan, who watched her from the sidelines, wondered how her frail body managed to handle it all.

Usually, Lysian would set aside time for dinner with Aslan, but she must have been very busy today, for when she came to see Aslan after finishing her work, it was already late at night.

Lysian threw off her ornate robes and jewelry. The clothes she had flung away landed softly on the plush carpet.

Aslan bent down to pick up the clothes scattered on the floor. Before he could loosen his grip, the silk slid down Aslan’s arm. Startled, Aslan gathered the clothes again. Lysian’s thin, sparkling jewels dangled from his thick fingers.

Having roughly tidied up Lysian’s belongings, Aslan attended to her. As soon as Lysian, clad only in her undergarments, reached out, Aslan handed her a nightgown.

This was a task that the steward Dandelion had previously done, but lately, Aslan had been doing it more often.

Changed into a comfortable slip, Lysian asked Aslan what he had been doing today. When she heard about his meeting with Chrysanthemum, her eyes widened and she asked again.

“You met Chris?”

‘Chris’? So they were on first-name terms. Aslan’s lips turned up in displeasure at the affectionate tone of her voice.

Chrysanthemum had claimed to be close to Lysian, but that was just his point of view. Aslan had thought that Lysian didn’t care about him at all, but it seemed that was his mistake.

Lysian seemed to welcome his presence very much. Aslan tried to hide his displeasure and casually asked about their relationship.

“That’s right. I heard he was a candidate for your consort.”

“Oh.”

Lysian nodded. She seemed completely unconcerned about the fact that, as the current consort candidate, Aslan would not be pleased by the appearance of a former candidate. Her answer was simple and dry.

If she had desperately tried to hide his existence, Aslan would have been displeased, but he wasn’t exactly at ease with this reaction either. It seemed that the mere existence of someone called Chris was irritating him.

Aslan’s face crumpled in annoyance. Seeing Aslan’s blatantly obvious expression, Lysian laughed lightly and asked.

“Are you jealous?”

“How could I not be?”

Although jealousy was overflowing, Aslan didn’t want to complain to Lysian about his discomfort, so he simply grumbled.

Of course, Lysian could see right through Aslan. Aslan was not someone who could hide his emotions very well.

Finding Aslan endearing, Lysian laughed heartily. Lysian’s laughter was as clear as dewdrops bouncing off petals, but given the situation, Aslan couldn’t simply enjoy Lysian’s laughter.

“Haha. I like it when you’re jealous. But I don’t want to make you uneasy for too long.”
