Hasa felt dismayed. Of all times to think of Berl. She shook her head vigorously and spoke before he could do anything more foolish.

“I should call you Lamberth, right?”

“Hmm, isn’t that too distant for us? Just comfortably call me Wolfgang… no. Wol, you can use the nickname Wol.”

Wol? What nonsense. She can’t even kick him.

Hasa continued firmly.

“Lamberth. I don’t know why you’re misunderstanding, but I…”

“No! I’m not asking for an immediate decision. My feelings for you are so great that I ended up proposing without any preparation, but if you could just give me some time.”

No, no. She absolutely didn’t want to give any such time.

Hasa felt dizzy seeing Lamberth who seemed to have no intention of listening to her. The desire to run away like last time welled up.

“Since we’re here, may I call you by a nickname too? Everyone else calls you Ha…”

“Hasa!”

A clear voice cut through Wolfgang’s, piercing her ears. The owner of that voice was Berl.

Berl always appeared miraculously whenever she felt troubled. Before, it had seemed purely lucky, but lately, she had a strange feeling wondering if it was really just coincidence.

“Bertolph.”

Wolfgang’s expression turned drastically cold. He spoke the name as if grinding it between his teeth. Berl gave Hasa an eye greeting, then quietly looked down at Wolfgang and asked.

“Ah, who were you again?”

Wolfgang’s brow furrowed as if his nerves had been properly scraped.

“Still can’t remember people’s names, I see.”

“I only remember the names of people I need to.”

“What an unpleasant bastard.”

Hasa startled. She knew Wolfgang didn’t like Berl much, but she hadn’t expected him to show such open hostility.

“I’m Wolfgang Lamberth.”

“Ah, Lamberth.”

Berl murmured as if he wasn’t particularly interested, then turned to look at Hasa.

“Hasa, I found you.”

“…Me?”

As her body hair stood on end wondering if he had discovered she’d been avoiding him, he smiled gently.

“Yes, you promised to help me with my Ancient Languages assignment today.”

The only time she had helped with Berl’s studies was before enrollment. While wondering if that was still continuing, at that moment Berl winked where Wolfgang couldn’t see.

‘Ah, he’s helping me.’

It seemed he wanted to get her out of this situation.

“….”

The tiger might be scary, but it was a hundred times better than watching Wolfgang’s disgraceful behavior. After thinking, Hasa played along.

“Ah, that’s right.”

As Hasa tried to step toward Berl, Wolfgang suddenly grabbed her wrist.

“Hey, respect the order here.”

Then he growled at Berl.

“Hmm, I don’t want to get involved in talking about order when we’re dealing with a person, not an object.”

“You’re just talking nonsense because you’re at a disadvantage.”

Angry at falling for Berl’s ploy, Wolfgang’s grip on Hasa’s wrist gradually tightened. As her face naturally grimaced at this, Berl grabbed Wolfgang’s forearm and said.

“But if we must establish an order, wouldn’t I have priority since I made the appointment first? Lamberth.”

“Ugh.”

Wolfgang let out a small groan at Berl’s grip strength and released Hasa’s wrist. Only then did Berl let go. Wolfgang massaged his forearm while breathing heavily.

-That annoying Radant. Always interfering with my business, and now even my woman.

His thoughts became clearer as his emotions intensified. But what’s this about ‘my woman’? Disgusted by his definitive thinking, Hasa said to Berl.

“Let’s go then. I’ll help you in the library.”

“Shall we?”

As Berl smiled brightly as if excited, Wolfgang burst out.

“Where are you going!”

His desperate voice made Hasa and Berl stop in their tracks, and Wolfgang, with a reddened face, moved his lips before shouting.

“I, I like you! It was love at first sight.”

Ugh. Hasa felt upset at the thought that she had heard his confession just like in the original story even in this life. It seems the events of the original story inevitably happen. However, the outcome could be changed by Hasa’s actions.

While Hasa couldn’t do anything about his confession, she opened her mouth to give a proper answer, but Berl was one step faster.

“Umm, sorry, Lamberth. You’re not my type.”

Berl answered with a genuinely troubled face, adding that he wasn’t into men. His face was so sincere that Hasa forgot her serious mood until just now and couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.

When Hasa’s serious expression finally relaxed, Berl seemed pleased and gave a pretty eye-smile.

Wolfgang was the only one outraged at this sight.

“No, are you crazy? I like Lady Hasa!”

“Ah, is that so.”

Berl put on an expression as if he really didn’t know. Hasa couldn’t help but laugh at his ridiculous acting. Wolfgang’s expression instantly darkened considerably. And around him, wind began to gather stealthily. Hasa was startled.

‘I never thought he could use special abilities.’

The blessing passed down through generations in the Lamberth family was wind. With the ability to freely create wind even indoors, he would achieve great merit in the battle against the Great Demon decades later.

Seeing Wolfgang’s red hair cutting through the wind, people gave him the nickname “Flame.”

As Hasa’s skirt and hair started to flutter in the wind, Berl stretched out his hand to block in front of her.

“Using abilities outside the training grounds is against school rules, Lamberth. You must know that.”

“Yeah, I do know. What, are you scared?”

Lamberth raised his index and middle fingers, pointing them at Berl. A sharp sound like a blade cutting through air was heard. Such swift wind was like a well-forged sword.

“The brave win the beauty.”

Crazy bastard. Curses flowed from Hasa’s lips. She hadn’t known he was this bad in her previous life, but seeing him act out when things didn’t go his way, he was nothing but a thug.

“Lamberth, stop before you regret it.”

“Such a long tongue. Isn’t it simple to just take by force?”

“Hasa is right here. Don’t do anything dangerous.”

Berl’s warning voice gradually lowered. Wolfgang continued to provoke Berl without care.

“Using the lady as an excuse. How embarrassing. Well, what else can we expect from a man too scared to even take the Grand Duke position.”

“……”

Hasa observed Berl’s profile visible from the side. His smile had long since disappeared. It was an incredibly uncomfortable situation. But at that moment, beyond the sound of the surrounding wind, Berl’s voice flowed in.

-He’s always so disagreeable to look at.

Berl’s inner voice was always desolate and chilling to hear. As she found herself listening to that voice.

“……”

-I wonder if cutting off those fingers would make him a bit quieter.

She could see power gathering in Berl’s palm at the end of that thought. Hasa’s eyes went wide. He might really cut them off. Unable to contain his suppressed temper, he might ruthlessly cut off Wolfgang’s fingers, and then she, the only witness…

Imagining Berl looking like a criminal who couldn’t let her live now that she knew his true nature, her spine chilled and she shouted.

“Lamberth!”

At Hasa’s resounding voice, both Wolfgang and Berl seemed startled and turned their gaze toward her.

Hasa looked at Wolfgang with a firmly set face. At that, he blinked repeatedly and answered in a dumbfounded voice.

“…Lady Hasa?”

“I’m not interested in you even as much as mouse droppings!”

“Mouse… droppings?”

The sharp atmosphere and the wind cutting through the corridor disappeared as if they had never been there. Lamberth repeated the words with a stupefied expression. His face showed he couldn’t comprehend what he had just heard.

While Hasa was just breathing heavily after blurting out words in her hurry, small laughter burst out from somewhere.

“Pfft.”

Berl brought his clenched fist to his mouth. Yet his laughter wouldn’t subside, and in the end, he just laughed out loud.

“Haha, Hasa. What is that? Even a stranger would get more interest than that.”

“……”

Who made me say such things in the first place? She felt like crying out loud.

As Hasa kept her mouth firmly shut with a face burning red, Berl, who had been looking at her as if she was adorable, turned his gaze to Wolfgang and said with a slight sneer.

“Well, did you hear that? Wolfgang. When a lady has spoken so clearly…”

“…Ugh.”

“If I were you, I’d leave just from the embarrassment.”
