Chapter 163
Roina had a dream.
In the dream, she was facing a golden dragon. Roina gently stroked the dragon’s snout. The dragon made a purring sound and wrapped her body with its neck. Roina stretched out both arms and hugged the dragon tightly in her embrace. It was a warm and happy feeling.
But, at some point, the dragon in her arms disappeared. As a flustered Roina looked around, black and long vine-like things stretched out from all directions and grabbed her. Roina struggled to break free from them, but it wasn’t easy.
Before she knew it, she saw the dragon lying fallen before her. Its huge body was pierced with spears and swords all over, and she felt that if she didn’t save it now, it would soon breathe its last.
“Rutan!!”
Roina shouted in the dream. However, that voice sounded muffled even to her own ears. It seemed like it wouldn’t reach anyone. A cold breath was felt from the blackness surrounding her. Roina was startled and looked down to see a large black snake wrapping around her and laughing.
“Rutan!!!!”
“He will die soon. Give up.”
“No!!”
The sound of laughter surrounding her grew louder and louder. He will die. Come here. It whispered and pulled her. Roina struggled and shook off the black snake with all her might. The magic that had saved her from moments of crisis moved, and the blackness shattered from her fingertips.
“Rutan!!”
Before her, a huge dragon with a golden body lay on the ground, blinking its eyes slowly. Its rough breathing sounded very uncomfortable. Roina felt her heart ache at the sight. Then, someone appeared from the other side.
“You can save him.”
It was a woman with the exact same face as Roina. She wore a faintly painful smile.
“Who are you?”
“I am I.”
“Huh?”
“The one you did not accept.”
Roina looked at her in bewilderment, but the woman only smiled and did not seem inclined to explain further.
“Don’t be afraid.”
“What on earth are you talking about?”
“Please take good care of him.”
“No, explain a little more”
Roina stopped talking. It was because a large yet small being in her arms was breathing more and more rapidly. Roina gently stroked him.
“How can I save him?”
“Believe in yourself and accept yourself as you are.”
“Why do you keep talking in riddles…”
“You will find out.”
Roina fell silent. Even though she thought it was strange, she felt comfortable for some reason. She quietly met eyes with the woman who looked exactly like her. An unknown, mysterious sensation permeated her. A warm feeling, for some reason. Her eyes closed on their own.
The energies surrounding her rose up, dancing and swirling like singing. Things that she had originally thought moved only when she spoke to them flowed and moved according to her will, just like her arms and hands.
Just when she felt like she was about to grasp something, a buzzing sound echoed around her.
“That crazy bastard!!”
“Hey!! No, that’s not it!!”
She groggily opened her eyes. Only then did Roina realize that what had just happened was a dream. She was being shaken in the arms of a man.
“……Ah.”
Her mouth fell open.
‘Even if it was brief, it felt like something was connected.’
She felt a little disappointed that the faintly lingering sensation had disappeared without a trace.
Roina, gathering her dimly awakened senses, tapped the chest of the man holding her. The man stopped abruptly, and then got hit by the woman who had followed him.
“Ouch!!! Hey, stop it! You woke her up!”
They continued to bicker like that for quite a while, and Roina had to remain in the arms of the sturdy man, clueless about what was going on, until the fight ended.
