Chapter 265
“In there?”
Camillo glanced sideways at the door filled with darkness. It certainly looked ominous to enter, but it was a space she had never been to before.
Even during the time she had tried to kill Icardo dozens or hundreds of times.
She wondered if such a space even existed in the inner palace.
“Why is something like this here?”
“Perhaps, there was a camouflage magic cast on it that prevented anyone from perceiving it normally.”
“Come to think of it, I wasn’t even aware this was here until you mentioned it.”
Camillo rested her fist under her chin and fell into thought. She was probably trying to recall if she had seen something like this before.
“As you may have noticed, this space is governed by magic. There are probably similar spaces scattered throughout this castle.”
Roina said, groping for the mana.
“If we unravel the magic entangled in this space, we might be able to resolve the magical events happening in this castle.”
Even though there was a high probability that this was a trap. She had to jump in.
She was also starting to worry about the whereabouts of the other two contractors, whom even Ethan didn’t know about, and they also had to achieve the original purpose of coming here…
‘And, I have to save Lutan.’
Roina felt like she was finally getting a sense of what she should say to him and what kind of conversation they should have. Not just unconditional love, or attraction, but a more genuine conversation.
Roina pursed her lips firmly and gestured to Camillo and Ethan. They had to move forward.
‘I have to save Roina.’
Lutan and Yoseph thought they could go to save Roina in an instant, but they were experiencing unexpected obstacles and were in a bind.
“…It’s a part of the World Tree.”
“…!! This is…”
Yoseph stared at the tree in front of him with surprised eyes. The white tree in front of them was certainly enormously huge.
The problem was that every time they tried to enter the castle in the very center of Castrello’s capital, they were repeatedly blocked by the white tree and couldn’t enter.
“If that’s the World Tree, then why is it blocking us?”
“Hmm…”
“According to my knowledge, the World Tree was merely a mythological and conceptual existence that supported and protected this world. Why does it have a will and block us?”
“Did it get eaten by bugs?”
“Huh?”
At Lutan’s absurd remark, Yoseph raised his eyebrows as if to say, “Don’t say ridiculous things.” Seeing his expression at times like this, he really resembled Mailly so much that you couldn’t deny they were related by blood.
Lutan ignored Yoseph’s reaction and placed his hand on the tree bark, examining the inside. His clear energy carefully spread along the tree trunk far, far away, and found one huge wound.
“This is it.”
Lutan immediately tried to put his hand in and heal the wound, but that was also thwarted by someone.
Clang-
It was a magical blade that shot down as if to cut him.
“Ryuhyeon. It was you after all.”
Lutan nonchalantly lifted his eyes and looked towards the direction from which the magical blade had been shot. The pupils of his golden eyes, which had transformed to be closer to those of a beast, were torn long. Ryuhyeon, appearing in the body of the Crown Prince, came into his view.
“Heh heh, you’re still moving around in that state. Even maintaining that form must be difficult.”
“Even in this state, I can crush a black parasitic bug.”
The gazes of the two clashed, creating an illusion as if sparks were flying between them.
“Are you holding Roina captive?”
Ryuhyeon shrugged his shoulders.
“You should get your words right, shouldn’t you? Roina-nim came here of her own volition. Only her departure is restricted.”
Lutan’s golden eyes were instantly filled with anger. At the gaze that had become even hotter, Ryuhyeon, on the contrary, raised the corners of his lips smoothly as if he was enjoying it, and smiled slyly.
“And that’s not all. Roina-nim willingly embraced me. Heh heh.”
Bang-!
