Chapter 281
“What, what is it?!”
Jason looked around with a flustered face. Roina pushed Rager away and approached it herself, and there she saw the mural shining in gold.
“This is…”
Indeed, this picture was similar to the one she had seen in the Crown Prince’s room. Amidst the great shaking of the ground, the wall of that pyramid-like temple blazed up more and more, and the being that appeared vividly behind the large wolf drawn on that wall was a golden dragon.
Roina unknowingly approached and placed her hand on that golden dragon mural. Her golden energy overflowed and then entered it as if it was being absorbed on its own. Kugugung- The ground shook even more violently.
The three people, swaying on the shaking ground, eventually fell due to the rising temple.
“Roina!”
Jason gritted his teeth and then embraced Roina, who was about to fall. No, it was even before he could shout in panic, ‘We can just float with magic!’ Jason and Roina were soon enveloped in golden energy and disappeared in an instant.
“Roina-nim…!”
Rager, who was a step too late, looked at the spot where they had been with a bewildered face, but they had already disappeared.
* * *
“Ugh…”
“…Where…?”
Jason and Roina woke up while still embracing each other. The first thing that caught Roina’s eye as she groggily got up was Jason’s well-formed arms, full of delicate muscles, and sand.
“…Sand?”
Roina murmured, dumbfounded. Only then did the sound of crashing waves reach her ears. The two were lying on the white sand of a beach.
“Ah…”
“…What. The sea?”
“I guess… so.”
Roina pushed Jason, who was embracing her, away slightly and sat on the sandy beach. She put her hand into the sand on the ground and touched it, feeling the familiar sun-filled sensation of the white sand of a beach.
She raised her head and looked around. Except for the forest behind them, everything around them was the sea. It was clear that this place was an island.
“What the heck is going on? The ground shook like that, and then suddenly.”
Jason got up, looking bewildered, and shook himself off. This appearance was truly like a dog. Roina unknowingly widened her eyes and slightly covered her mouth. This thought should remain a secret.
“For now, what’s clear is that the fragment of primordial magic has always been involved in phenomena like this.”
“Hmm, really? This is probably the last one, right?”
“Yes.”
Fides in the east, Quies in the north, Amor in the imperial palace, and now in the west, Castrello – S***n.
The magic fragments she had scattered to break the contract between the first emperor and Kail and to seal the empire now had only one remaining at the southern tip.
“I wonder what will happen this time… It’s been difficult from the start.”
“Hmm, but.”
Jason sniffed at the surrounding air with a wrinkled nose and said,
“The smell is different.”
“Well, it was a forest before, and now it’s the sea, so of course it would be different, right?”
“No, it’s not that. There was sea near there too.”
Then, Jason got down on all fours and sniffed the sand, tasted the sea, and spat it out, pweh pweh, before saying with certainty,
“The smell is different. Something… The fundamental feeling is different from where we were.”
“Hmm…”
The golden light flashed and they moved. That was all they knew for sure. Could it be that they had moved to a completely different place? Only then did Roina close her eyes and concentrate, feeling the flow of mana.
“Hmm, it is different. This…”
The rules of mana were subtly different. Roina haltingly read the language of mana.
“Time, has changed.”
At her words, Jason’s eyebrows shot up to the sky.
“Eh? Time has changed? What does that mean?”
“Literally, this is…”
At that moment, a huge booming sound split the two apart.
“What is that… Noisy.”
“It’s a ship!”
In the distance, a ship was approaching the island. A ship that was clearly of an old style. Roina and Jason looked at each other with shaking eyes at the sight.
