Her body had already been used countless times, so Esther understood immediately. Of course, that didn’t mean she was accustomed to this moment. With a heavy heart, she tightly shut her eyes before carefully removing her clothes.

Soon, she also saw the group who had brought him. They wore black masks. Holding the man, who had been dragged like a dog, they began fastening him to the two pulleys with chains around his chest and legs.
As the man thrashed in terror at the ominous contraption, the masked men subdued him with practiced ease.
While three of them restrained him, the other two checked that the chains were securely attached. Once confirmed, they began turning the pulleys’ hooks.
Immediately, a horrifying scream tore from the man’s throat—one that would make anyone’s spine tingle.
Esther couldn’t bear to watch and squeezed her eyes shut, wailing. She tried to turn her head away, but Karzhen’s firm grip forced her to keep looking. She had to hear every terrible scream and the faint creaking of twisting flesh.

Esther begged. Only then did Karzhen release her head, but the sounds outside were impossible to ignore, no matter how faint.
Nauseated by the bloody spectacle, Esther froze in shock. Karzhen pretended to comfort her, stroking her head.
“If that bastard’s spine snaps before I leave, you’re going up there next. Understood?”
Though his eyes were curved in a smile, Esther had no trouble recognizing the sincerity behind them. She shook her head frantically, tears streaming, and babbled pleas for mercy. But Karzhen’s expression didn’t change.
The slap to her backside was vicious. Only after he threatened to send her outside did Esther finally lift her hips with a sob.
