Startled, Yi Hyeon turned around to see a wet tissue already in Han Joon’s hand. Thinking of the perfectly polished marble floor, Yi Hyeon put his mud-covered front paw onto Han Joon’s outstretched hand with a bit of hesitation. Han Joon held the tiny, fluffy paw gently and chuckled.

“Since our Louie went potty, should we clean up your little tail, too?”

That last part made Yi Hyeon cringe with embarrassment. The instant he pulled his paw free, he bolted.

Back in the room, Yi Hyeon scurried under the bed, hiding his blushing face in a corner. Never in his life had he felt such utter humiliation.

“Louie, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”

Yi Hyeon shot a resentful glare at Han Joon, who had peered under the bed. The last thing he ever wanted was to experience the feeling of getting his rear cleaned by a fellow senior—especially one from his own class.

When he closed his eyes, he could still see Han Joon’s wide grin as he effortlessly chased after Yi Hyeon, teasing him the entire time, and was burned into his memory. If he were to dream of today’s events, he was certain it would be a nightmare.

“Louie, look! It’s your animal friends!”

Han Joon brought his phone close, showing a cartoonish video designed for pets. Cute, animated animals danced across the screen.

“I’ll brush my teeth properly because healthy fangs are cool!”

“I’ll groom myself nicely. Jealous of my fur?”

“I’ll eat all my food! We’re strong, healthy animal friends!”

Please… enough.

It was the exact tune to drive Yi Hyeon deeper into his hiding spot.

Dozing off without realizing it, Yi Hyeon eventually poked his head out from under the bed. He saw Han Joon studying at his desk, absorbed enough that even the soft sound of Yi Hyeon’s claws didn’t distract him.

‘So, he actually studies. And he’s focused, too. No wonder he’s at the top of the class.’

From the front, Han Joon’s face was arresting—a rare kind of handsomeness. But from behind, he had a different appeal altogether. His broad back and upright posture hinted at stability and strength. His narrow waist gave way to muscular thighs that looked sturdy and firm.

‘I’ve never seen shorts look racy.’

Even with the chair suited to his frame, his long legs spilled over, showing lean calves. Watching him concentrate like that on the plush seat made Yi Hyeon suddenly aware of his own predicament.

‘Oh, I have to study. I can’t waste any more time like this.’

His stomach grumbled, as he realized he might have to enter the university’s threshold like a puppy.

With no meal since the accident, his belly felt thin, the cold pressing in more than ever.

He hadn’t eaten since the day of the accident.

Curling up tightly, Yi Hyeon struggled to stay awake, his eyes drooping until he nearly drifted off.

Knock, knock.

Startled by the sound, Yi Hyeon’s ears perked up. Han Joon didn’t respond at first, apparently not hearing it, until Yi Hyeon whimpered softly, alerting him to a second knock.

“If that’s Han Se Hyun, go away. I have nothing to say to you.”

Yi Hyeon recognized the name Han Se Hyun. He hadn’t imagined Han Joon lived with a half-brother. Yet, he wasn’t entirely surprised that the two weren’t close, given their circumstances.

“Joonie, it’s me, the housekeeper.”

And then a familiar, savory scent wafted through the crack in the door. Was that…?

Meat?

As the door opened, a woman carrying a dish stepped into the room. The rich, greasy aroma made Yi Hyeon jump to his feet, his fluffy tail wagging like a helicopter blade.

‘Real meat!’
