Chapter XI. Sincerity
Perhaps because she had just woken up after about five days, the evening meal consisted mainly of easily digestible foods. Psyche took a spoonful of the savory chicken soup, its warm aroma filling her senses.
A gentle warmth spread through her body. She tried to keep her mind as calm as possible, at least for this moment, and slowly savored the soup.
“…….”
Though she didn’t show it, she had been quite surprised when she realized five days had passed since she last opened her eyes. It was only then that she truly felt the approach of her manifestation period.
‘I wondered when the signs of manifestation would appear… and now it’s finally happening.’
Her body was beginning to fully prepare itself to accept a power that a human physique could hardly withstand. As the manifestation period drew closer, her physical condition would deteriorate to its worst. Falling unconscious for five days was just one of the symptoms.
Normally, as the time approached, one would become healthier and their physical abilities would improve, but for her, it was the opposite. Still, she felt more relief than discomfort. Thanks to this, no one would notice that she was about to manifest her ability.
Psyche turned her head toward the calendar. It was June 26th. It had already been 42 days since she was confined here…….
If things continued as they had been, she might be able to manifest her ability within a month.
In the original story, she had manifested her ability exactly 100 days after being kidnapped by the male leads. The war had broken out ten days before her manifestation, so manifesting within around 80 days would be safe.
Fortunately, at this rate, it seemed she could manifest her ability within 80 days.
For the first time since being confined here, a deep sense of relief spread through her chest. Feeling lighter, she finished her meal and got up from her seat.
After rinsing her mouth at the washbasin, Psyche headed toward the chair by the bed when she suddenly realized something.
Today, the contraceptive tea had not been brought to the dining table.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door, and Serdin entered.
“…….”
A brief silence followed. He paused as he entered, his gaze fixed on Psyche. After a moment of stillness, Serdin averted his eyes and quickly walked toward the dining room. Psyche watched as he began transferring the dishes to the trolley, then finally spoke.
“……The contraceptive tea wasn’t brought today.”
Serdin froze just as he was about to leave the room after collecting the last dish.
“Could you bring it for me?”
The moment her words ended, his gaze sharpened. He pushed the trolley aside and strode toward her.
“You want to drink the tea?”
The massive man blocked her path, and her shoulders flinched. He tilted his head slightly, one corner of his mouth quirking up.
“Then you should’ve been more obedient from the start.”
He declared it as if it were a fact.
“You’re not getting any more tea.”
From the moment she realized the contraceptive tea hadn’t been brought, she had suspected as much. It seemed the heads of Arje now had plans to get her pregnant.
Since she couldn’t get pregnant in her current state anyway, it didn’t matter much to her. But if she reacted too calmly, it would raise suspicions. So Psyche pretended not to understand and asked,
“What… do you mean?”
“I’m the one who wants to ask. What the hell are you thinking, holding out like this?”
Serdin let out an irritated laugh.
“What are you even relying on to keep refusing our offers?”
He was referring to their offers to guarantee her safety if she betrayed Mathes—or at least pretended to.
“If you had half a brain, you’d at least pretend to accept the offer. I thought you were smart, but maybe you’re just stupid. Don’t you realize that if you keep acting like this, things will only get worse for you? Damn it, seriously…!”
“What could be worse?”
Psyche cut him off, her voice calm even as Serdin’s grew more heated with each word.
“You’ve already humiliated me. You’ve watched me suffer, sometimes even made a spectacle of it. You’ve forced me to urinate in front of everyone, shoved two c***s inside me at once, e********d on my face and body, and made me swallow your c*m… What could possibly be worse?”
As her words continued, Serdin’s expression hardened. In contrast, Psyche remained composed, as if she were talking about someone else’s life.
“Whatever worse thing you do here, it won’t feel all that surprising anymore.”
