Balzac yawned loudly and said,

“How much longer do we have to watch this? It’s so boring I could die.”

Joshua gave him a disapproving look.

“Please, think about the dignity of the Daymond Jurisdiction before you speak.”

Lysmond sighed deeply.

“Whatever it is, can you two just stop fighting?”

The three brothers looked like they were suffering through unbearable boredom as they endured the Festival of Abundance.

After all, for over two hours, they had been pouring alcohol, offering it at the altar, pouring again, and discarding it again…

Now I understood why that silver chalice sparkled so much.

‘If it were plated, the coating would’ve been completely worn off by now.’

Repeating the same action for three straight hours was enough to drive anyone crazy.

I’d rather listen to a three-hour-long sermon.

The other direct descendants had similarly strained expressions.

But not me!

oh anatoli, how much longer do we have to deal with you?

like, i get that this is a novel, but seriously, this is so unrealistic. how can someone be this crazy and still be a princess of a country?

‘Exactly!’

I wasn’t bored at all because I had something to read—the comments!

Ever since Dad became the protagonist, the novel had skyrocketed in popularity.

The comment section had exploded with activity.

I was carefully reading every single comment from the first chapter onward.

‘But something’s strange.’

The chapters were active up until Chapter 30, but there weren’t any comments on Chapter 30 itself.

It was as if the page had been wiped clean—there was absolutely nothing there.

‘I think today’s events are happening in Chapter 30.’

While I was pondering this, a familiar voice spoke from behind me.

“Oh, they’re finally lighting the brazier.”

Riantine stretched her back and spoke in a weary tone.

Once the fire was lit and the straw in the brazier burned out, the Festival of Abundance would finally come to an end.

Just as I was thinking that, a strange gust of wind roared from somewhere.

The sound was fierce, like air being torn apart.

“A wind?”

“Wait a minute. This is─!”

As the third-generation direct descendants looked to the sky with hardened expressions,

“KYAAAAAA─!!!”

A scream erupted.

“KYAAAH─! It’s a monster!!”

The third generation kids of House Astra quickly turned their heads.

Monsters were soaring through the air, their wings flapping violently. There appeared to be at least three of them.

“They’re flying straight toward us!”

The monsters were heading directly for the altar.

At the top of the altar stairs stood three members of the imperial family and one priest.

“Ah! The prince!”

“Help! Save us…!”

“Your Majesty!”

“AAAAH!”

To reach the altar, you’d have to run to the stairs and climb them—a distance that would take at least five to seven minutes.

It wasn’t a distance you could cover instantly.

“Lysmond!”

At Dad’s command, Lysmond quickly activated a blessing.

He used <Teleportation>, but…

BAM!

He couldn’t ascend to the altar because of a barrier.

“The altar’s barrier prevents the passage of specialized blessings.”

Specialized blessings like <Teleportation>, <Tracking>, <Curse> and were unique in nature.

In events like the Festival of Abundance, where the imperial family appeared before the masses, there was always a risk of assassination.

While the regional nobles kept an eye on destructive blessings, specialized blessings couldn’t be controlled as easily.

That’s why the altar had such a sturdy barrier.

Of course, Astra had people capable of dealing with these monsters in one blow.

‘But their power is too dangerous!’

Using such a powerful blessing from this distance would be reckless.

If something went wrong, even the imperial family could get hurt.

Even Dad’s blessing, if not controlled carefully, could turn the First Imperial Prince into dust.

‘This is serious.’

The bloodline members all began rushing toward the stairs.

Loreina, who had transformed into her werebeast form, was the fastest.

She leapt into the fray, transforming into a leopard and attacking the monsters.

“RAAAAWR─!”

But the monsters were too strong, and Loreina, being a teenager, couldn’t handle them.

I bit my lip tightly.

‘I have no choice.’

Whoosh─!!

I pulled out the flute I had been hiding in my coat and blew it with all my might.

The sound of wings flapping approached rapidly.

“Ragon!!!”

Ragon flew to me.

Everyone around me was in chaos, but I ignored them and jumped onto Ragon’s back.

As I flew past the direct descendants on Ragon, I heard their shocked exclamations.

“R-Ragon?!”

“What? It’s alive?!”

Yes, Ragon wasn’t dead.

There’s no way I would’ve let him die.

“But didn’t Uncle Deacons─!”

At the far end of the altar stairs, my eyes met Riantine’s.

She stood there with a haughty expression.

‘Uncle Deacons’s most beloved daughter is my ally!’

This is why connections are important.

Ragon soared into the sky and sank its teeth into the monster’s neck.

Screeeech!

The flying monster, Karuathon, screamed and flailed as it was dragged away.

It was a monster I’d seen once in the Hadix Mountain Range as a child.

Karuathon was a powerful monster, but it was no match for the Steel Crow.

And Ragon was far stronger than any other Steel Crow.

After defeating the monsters, I jumped gracefully off Ragon’s back.

“Are you alright, Imperial Consort?”

“Y-Yes… My goodness. What just happened…?”

As I helped the Imperial Consort up, I felt a sharp gaze nearby.

It was Anatoli.

She looked pale as if she’d seen a ghost.

She must’ve been utterly shocked to see Ragon alive.

“Can you get up on your own? I need to assist the Imperial Consort… Apologies for the disparity in rank.”

Then I smirked and lifted one corner of my lips.

Seeing my mocking expression, Anatoli’s face twisted in fury.

“You…”

Grinding her teeth, Anatoli let out a bitter laugh.

“Hah!”

And then she yelled furiously,

“What in the world is the meaning of this?!”
