“What? It’s not a club invitation?”

“Give it to me.”

Lysmond frowned, warning Balzac, but Balzac just smirked mischievously.

“No way~”

With that, Balzac took off running.

“Hey!”

Lysmond chased after him, but Joshua subtly got in his way.

Meanwhile, Balzac began reading the letter aloud.

“‘When I saw you near Everett Street, I felt the destiny of fate calling out to me. Ah, those ruby-like eyes. The moment I saw them, I just knew.’”

“Shut up!”

“‘A wounded soul who’s closed off from the world… Someone with a fragile heart like a little kitten’—wait, Brother, are you a kitten?”

Balzac teased, laughing.

“Give it back!”

Whoosh, swoosh!

In an instant, Lysmond disappeared and reappeared right in front of Balzac.

“Huh?”

Lysmond snatched the letter from Balzac’s hands.

Then—

Rip, rip!

He shredded the letter into pieces so small they were unrecognizable and threw them into the fireplace.

In no time, the letter was reduced to ashes.

Joshua, witnessing the scene, let out a small laugh.

“Little kitten.”

Lysmond glared daggers at Balzac, the instigator of the mess.

Balzac shrugged nonchalantly, still grinning.

“Follow me to the training yard.”

“Oh no, I’m scared. Scary little kitten~.”

“…Do you have a death wish?”

Lysmond and Balzac started bickering again.

Watching those two, who weren’t exactly weaklings, go at it was exhausting.

Dad, seated at the head of the table, furrowed his brow.

“Stop causing a ruckus and sit down.”

At Dad’s words, Balzac shrugged once more and returned to his seat.

Dad then turned to Lysmond.

“You too, little kitten.”

“……”

Grit!

Wow… He’s going to grind his teeth down at this rate.

The sound was so unnerving I began to worry about Lysmond’s dental health.

‘Come to think of it, I’ve never seen Brother Lysmond act like this before.’

Apparently, others felt the same way, as even Michelan, who was serving nearby, chuckled quietly.

I glanced around and saw that the other servants Michelan had hired were also stifling their laughter.

Lysmond seemed to notice, as the tips of his ears turned bright red.

Clapping my hands loudly, I decided to put an end to the situation.

“You shouldn’t tease big brother, Brother Balzac, Brother Joshua.”

“We weren’t teasing…” Balzac stammered, trying to justify himself.

“If it wasn’t teasing, then what was it?”

“Uh, um… We were just playing around, that’s all.”

Unlike Balzac, Joshua seemed remorseful and offered a gentle smile.

“Sorry.”

The twin terrors of Astra Manor, as they were often called, were remarkably obedient when it came to me.

Satisfied with Joshua’s apology, I nodded.

Then, I turned to Dad.

“You too, Dad.”

“My apologies, Lysmond.”

Without hesitation, Dad apologized to Lysmond.

In the end, Lysmond had no choice but to sit back down.

He gave me a warm smile, full of gratitude.

“Thank you, Erylotte.”

“Oh, it’s nothing. Little kitten.”

“……”

Pfft. Snicker. Haha!

Laughter, poorly suppressed, erupted sporadically throughout the room.

Lysmond sighed, looking utterly resigned.

Sorry. But this is just too funny!

Perhaps deciding it was better to change the subject, Lysmond turned to Dad.

“Shouldn’t Erylotte have a nanny?”

“A nanny?”

“Yes. She’ll be engaging in social activities soon, and we don’t have a mistress of the house.”

Coincidentally, I had been thinking the same thing earlier today.

‘No way am I spending all day writing replies again.’

My wrist still ached from all the letters I had written.

Dad seemed to find the suggestion reasonable, as he nodded thoughtfully.

“Hmm… Michelan, look into hiring a suitable nanny for Erylotte.”

Michelan bowed slightly at Dad’s command.

“I was about to bring it up. The Duke has already recommended someone for the role.”

“Dad did?”

“Yes. She’s a former lady-in-waiting from the Imperial Palace and is well-known among the nobility.”

Oh, someone like that would certainly be helpful.

She would know about the workings of the imperial household, the dynamics of noble factions, and have impeccable etiquette—a perfect fit.

It seemed Dad had the same thought, as he nodded in agreement.

“Sounds good. Set up a meeting.”

“Yes.”

“What’s her name?”

“Madam Asha.”

“What?!”
