Chapter 2
“Yes. Here. Now. Did you forget I spent six months wandering around the battlefield? I’m going to take care of it here.”
“But even there…”
“Evina Siollier.”
“…Yes.”
“It’s true that I’m a b***h in heat who jumps at anything in a skirt, but I’m not desperate enough to screw the w****s loitering around a war zone.”
“I’m sorry, I was just…”
“Forget it.”
He waved his hand.
“Should I undress you myself?”
“What if someone walks in?”
She gestured toward the closed door.
At that, Xenobius chuckled.
“Ah, you act so shameless sometimes and yet you know nothing.”
He reached out his hand. When Evina reflexively took it, he gently pulled her hand closer and pressed his lips to the back of it.
“…Ah.”
She shivered at the sensation of his hot lips touching her skin and then pulling away.
“Who do you think.”
The man, who had been brushing his lips against the back of her hand, lifted his eyes and looked up at her.
He was devastatingly sexy.
“Would anyone dare open a door that Emperor Xeno has shut.”
It was an irrefutable fact. Not even the Empire’s actual emperor would be able to open this closed door.
The only reason she had been able to cross the threshold of this banquet hall in her black mourning dress in the first place was because of this man’s influence. Without it, it would have been impossible.
Realizing there was no corner left to flee to, Evina pulled her hand free from his grasp.
She had already made up her mind six months ago anyway. At this point, there was no other way to live a life as comfortable and prosperous as getting involved with Xenobius Impetraz.
Reaching behind her back, she slowly tugged at the ribbon cinching her black dress tight.
The soft silk cord slipped across her skin and drooped loose.
She fumbled, struggling to undo the rest, but the intricate knot wouldn’t come undone easily.
“Pathetic.”
Watching her, the man reached out again.
“Come here.”
He pulled her by the hand, sat her down between his thick thighs, and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.
His hot lips grazed the nape of her neck.
“…Ah.”
Evina trembled.
Xenobius, who had seemed ready to tear the dress ribbon apart at any moment, instead pressed his lips and the tip of his nose against her long, slender nape, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly.
His breath swept through the fine hairs on her skin.
Goosebumps rose all over her.
“Ah… hah.”
Her small shoulders quivered.
His hand slowly stroked down her tightly cinched waist as he took his time at the nape of her neck, where it flowed into her shoulders.
“Uh… hah. Ah.”
Truthfully, she wasn’t particularly fond of this kind of thing.
She couldn’t help it.
As is often the fate of a woman sold off to an old husband at a young age, her first night had been almost like living hell, and for a long time afterward, whenever her husband came at her, she spent the whole time thinking about how to make it end faster and how to minimize the contact of skin on skin.
“I…”
The man’s movements paused for a moment.
“I don’t really like this kind of thing.”
At that, the lips that had been brushing her nape parted and a hot tongue swept along the line of her shoulder.
“Hah…”
Startled, she shrank her neck back.
The hand that had been stroking her waistline crept upward and rubbed her flat stomach, making her spine straighten instinctively.
“Yeah?”
His voice was indifferent.
“Yes, I’m not very… used to it.”
“Mm.”
All her attention focused on the hand caressing her stomach.
But his hand only rubbed her flat lower belly and the end of her solar plexus, never venturing up to her chest. Instead, he took hold of the ribbon she had failed to undo and slowly pulled.
His fingers were incredibly skilled as they loosened the ribbon tied in an X shape.
Each time he slowly pulled the cord, it grazed her skin and a strange sensation bloomed. Something deep inside her belly seemed to pulse in a subtle, peculiar way.
At last, the ribbon that had been holding her dress in place came completely undone, and the tight binding around her chest grew loose.
In that moment, a large hand slipped in and grasped her swaying b****t.
“…Ah.”
The man whispered into her ear.
“From now on, you’ll never get tired of this kind of thing. Don’t worry. Before long, you’ll be loving it like crazy.”
