Chapter 29
The man grinned.
In an instant, goosebumps rose all over her body.
“…”
She couldn’t easily open her mouth.
She even felt fear in the face of that overwhelming, beautiful premise. That Viscount Derise would vanish from her life.
“I asked you a question, Evina.”
Her lips were trembling.
“…Yes.”
Evina barely managed to part her lips.
“If only Viscount Derise…”
Her throat seized up.
“If only Viscount Derise were gone.”
In the mirror, her golden eyes met the dark ones.
A shiver ran through her the moment their gazes locked.
“Gladly.”
Whether it was f*****g or anything else, if Xenobius commanded it, she was confident she could do anything.
“Even if I told you to strip naked and crawl before me like a dog?”
She couldn’t even blink. A suffocating tension wrapped around her.
“…Yes.”
If that devil would disappear, merely stripping and crawling on the floor like a dog was nothing.
“Impressive.”
As if praising an obedient puppy, Xenobius gently scratched her neck.
“Even if I told you to sell your soul.”
“Yes.”
The first time had been hard, but the second was easy.
Her answer was quick and clear.
“Can you hold my c**k in your mouth and cry prettily until I’m satisfied?”
They were explicit, vulgar words she had heard many times from Viscount Derise’s lips. But hearing them in Xenobius’s voice, they didn’t feel disgusting or revolting. Instead, even the fine hairs on her skin stood on end.
She felt something deep inside her body clench tight.
“Hm?”
He pressed his cheek against her pale one. A deep scent brushed past her nose.
“If I tell you to spread your legs, can you spread them? If I tell you to tighten your c**t, can you tighten it?”
“…Yes.”
Evina answered as if entranced.
If only the Viscount would disappear… If only the horrible, disgusting Viscount Derise would vanish from her life…
She could do anything the Grand Duke wanted.
Even if he told her to get on all fours on the floor like a dog. Even if he told her to spread her legs.
Even if he told her to lick his feet.
“I can do it.”
At that, Xenobius let out a low, pleased laugh and straightened up.
In that instant, it was as if a light had been switched on. Evina’s reason returned. The hazy, blank feeling in her mind vanished.
“Good.”
Evina spun around quickly.
The man wore a satisfied smile.
“Very good. I was worried you’d be difficult, but you’re refreshingly straightforward.”
“Your Grace.”
“I’ll be leaving soon for a monster subjugation. I’ll return in six months. And within that time, I’ll eliminate Viscount Derise.”
Evina was at a loss for words.
He reached out and grasped her small chin. Then he slowly lowered his head.
His face drew closer and closer. Close enough that the tips of their noses touched and their lips nearly brushed.
Evina turned her head away.
“…”
“Fulfill the promise first.”
She whispered quietly. Xenobius straightened up and let out a loud laugh.
“Y-Your Grace!”
Startled, she glanced around.
He seized the woman’s wrist.
“…Ah.”
“Fine. Promise first. I’ll remember that. In exchange, the day we meet again, you’ll have to spread your legs.”
Their eyes met at close range.
That was when they heard the sound of quick footsteps approaching from a distance.
It was Therese.
“…It’s Therese.”
Startled, Evina shot up from her seat.
No matter how much Therese was on her side at the moment, she wasn’t someone Evina could fully trust.
If she discovered Evina in the drawing room, not even properly dressed, standing so close with Xenobius, she might report it to Viscount Derise.
“You have to… you have to leave now…”
But Therese was faster. She rushed into the drawing room, panting for breath.
“I’m so, so sorry. My lady, I suddenly fell asleep… I’m truly sorry.”
Evina, frightened out of her wits, quickly turned around. But Xenobius, who had been right behind her just moments ago, had vanished as if it had all been a lie.
Astonishingly…
“…My lady?”
Evina regained her composure and turned back around.
“Ah, it’s fine. I dozed off a little myself.”
“I’m so sorry, really. I don’t know what happened… I was just clearing your meal, and the next thing I knew, I woke up sleeping in the corner of the kitchen. I must have been possessed by a ghost or something, my lady. You know me, right? I’ve never done anything like this, I always work hard for you…”
