Chapter 36
Her golden eyes went empty.
“You clearly said you would stake everything.”
Xenobius, who had been stroking her nape with his lips, lifted his head. He looked her straight in the eye and asked in a low voice.
“Did you really think you paid the full price just by f*****g me once?”
A cold sneer played at the corner of his mouth.
“Just because you spread your legs once, and on top of that, you gushed all over the place because my c**k felt so good, you want to call it even?”
“I…”
“Don’t be so insolent. Because I still haven’t taken everything I want from you.”
“…How long must I be dragged along by Your Grace?”
If Xenobius kept using this logic, she might never be able to escape him until he lost interest.
She refused that.
Whether it was the Siolliers, Viscount Derise, or Grand Duke Xenobius Impetraz, she was done with anyone dictating her life.
“Who knows.”
He let out a soft scoff.
“You’ll have to spread your legs until I’m satisfied. That’s the rule I’ve set.”
In truth, Xenobius could have ravaged and toyed with Evina as he pleased from the very beginning, without ever making such a promise.
But he hadn’t. The reason was unknown. Perhaps it was more entertaining this way. Perhaps it simply suited him better.
One thing, however, was clear. Evina had no choice.
“If you fail to properly pay the price of our promise, I will ruin you. On the name of the House of Impetraz.”
He smiled crookedly.
It was the kind of smile that sent chills down her spine and made her skin crawl.
“Ruin me?”
She opened her eyes again and met the man’s face.
“…How?”
“There are plenty of ways. But the one I think you’d find most horrifying…”
He stroked her smooth chin. His fingers traced down her soft, warm neck, gradually descending.
“…is marrying you off to some penniless, good-for-nothing noble with nothing but a hollow title.”
Evina’s golden eyes shook violently.
Yes.
That was, without a doubt, the most terrible and catastrophic thing for a widow who had inherited her husband’s fortune.
“I’d create another Viscount Derise for you. The moment you’re forced to sign the marriage declaration, you’ll lose everything. If the bastard has any sense, he’ll slowly bleed the money dry. He’ll drink, w***e around, and occasionally lay his hands on you. And he’ll shove his filthy c**k into you, demanding you bear his child.”
She squeezed her eyes shut.
“Sooner or later, the vast fortune will all be squandered, and thanks to that golden hair and golden eyes of yours, you’ll probably be sold off as some rare courtesan. And there, you’ll meet a very miserable death.”
The terrible curse the man had spoken aloud played out vividly before her eyes.
She trembled.
“And if the bastard is smart, he’ll kill you right away. Then he’ll put a passionately beloved fiancée in your place, or a woman bringing a hefty dowry. And he’ll live happily ever after. Thinking of meeting a woman like you as the luckiest break of his life.”
His fingers groped along the parted chest of her thin chemise.
“How about it.”
Xenobius was a devil.
Just as he trampled and killed on the battlefield, he could just as easily trample Evina to death.
She didn’t want that.
She clenched her fists tight.
She would survive. No matter what.
She had to survive, at least until she could see the Siolliers crumble with her own two eyes. Only then would the anger knotted inside her finally loosen.
Her mind made up, she slowly lifted her eyelids.
“…You said you would give me the Siolliers. Absolutely.”
“Yes.”
“What should I do? Should I crawl on the floor like a dog? Or should I lick Your Grace’s feet?”
The man burst into loud laughter. He laughed for a long while, then tapped her smooth cheek lightly.
“I like how quick you are.”
He rose from his seat.
He shed the uniform jacket that had been confining him and popped open the buttons of his shirt.
“Take it off.”
At his low voice, Evina answered without a word. She rose from the bed, pushed the blanket aside, and set her feet on the floor.
Her body, clothed in nothing but a loose, thin chemise, was fully outlined by the moonlight.
A cool, pleasant breeze blew, making the chemise flutter and revealing everything. Her soft b*****s, her flat stomach, and the smooth, hairless mound of her s*x.
