Chapter 107
“This is the limit for a normal human.”
He smacked his lips as if he were disappointed, then looked down at the thing he was clenching in his hand. He grinned, his eyes greedily scanning Heesu.
“But what about you, magical girl?”
“Gasp!”
As soon as he finished speaking, the monster lifted Heesu’s body. He lifted her effortlessly with just one hand and slung her over his shoulder. Heesu, whose body was now slung over the monster’s shoulder, was startled and screamed.
“W-what are you doing?! Let me go!”
“We went through all this trouble to meet; shouldn’t we play for a little while longer?”
The monster then strode away. No matter how much Heesu screamed, struggled, and hit him with her fists, he didn’t even flinch and kept walking.
“Ugh…….”
Heesu bit her lip and trembled, realizing with a heavy heart that no matter how much she resisted, it was no use.
A heavy despair engulfed Heesu.
She couldn’t beat this monster after all. She was no match for him.
She had been reckless. What did she think she was doing, acting so brave when she wasn’t even that strong? Had she deluded herself into thinking she was strong because she had only ever faced weak demons?
She should have listened to Violen. He had probably warned her because he was worried this would happen. No, she should have at least turned back when that cat blocked her path.
A wave of belated regret washed over her. It was pathetic. She felt her own incompetence piercing her to the bone. She had run to save someone, only to watch them die right in front of her without being able to save them. On top of that, she herself had been captured.
What would happen to her now? Would she be r***d by the monster and die, shriveled up like that woman just now?
“No…….”
Heesu swallowed a sob and mumbled. She didn’t want to die that way.
“Master!”
“Lee Heesu!”
Suddenly, she faintly heard voices calling her. Heesu hurriedly turned her head in that direction. Through the space between the buildings, she could see the demons searching for her, calling her name. Violen, who was walking around, was close to her. She felt like they would hear her if she screamed.
“Ah…….”
But Heesu, who was about to call him, stopped herself and hastily covered her mouth.
She had lost. If so.….. her subordinates might get eaten by this monster.
“What’s wrong? Do you know someone?”
The monster asked, stopping, as if he had read Heesu’s reaction. Heesu shook her head.
“No, there’s no one like that…….”
Her voice trembled slightly as she answered. She was anxious. Her heart was pounding as if it would burst, terrified that the monster would find out about them.
“Hmm…….”
Fortunately, the monster didn’t seem to suspect anything else and started walking again.
Heesu watched them with a face on the verge of tears. It pained her to see them getting further and further away from her. The thought that this might be goodbye forever made her heart ache.
Once they were completely out of sight, Heesu bit her lip and lowered her head.
“Meow!”
The cat that had run out of the alleyway stopped and watched them.
Heesu’s reflection appeared in its pale purple eyes, then quickly disappeared.

“Heesu’s not coming out.”
After receiving the hotteok, handing them out to everyone, and paying for them, Violen muttered anxiously as he looked toward the bathroom. Rufus, who was munching on the hotteok with a scrunched-up face and his head tilted back as hot sugar dripped down his chin, also looked in that direction and tilted his head.
“Poop?”
“You shouldn’t talk about a lady’s private business so bluntly, Rufus.”
For once, Edstan gave a sensible critique. His face also looked somewhat stiff, but not as much as Violen’s.
“I figured she might be taking a little while, but…….”
“I have a bad feeling about this.”
“You always have a bad feeling.”
“I have to go check.”
Violen ran to the bathroom in a hurry. Although it was the women’s bathroom, he didn’t hesitate and ran inside to check.
The doors of both bathroom stalls were wide open. They were both empty.
“She’s not here.”
Violen mumbled, looking at the sight in a daze. Edstan, who had followed him, also frowned seriously behind him. Violen, who sensed his presence, asked without even turning around.
“Who’s the closest one to Korea right now?”
“Russia.”
“It’s not too far to come if he sets his mind to it.”
“That’s right.”
“Who is it?”
“Asta.”
At that, Violen turned around in shock.
“Isn’t he the most dangerous one?!”
“Calm down. Nothing might have happened, so just stay calm for now…….”
“By the time something happens, it’ll already be too late!”
“You’re not the only one worried about Master. But the more this happens, the calmer we need to be. If we get too excited, we could mess things up even more.”
“Damn it.”
