Chapter 119
The demon didn’t even know what that feeling of family love was.
It wasn’t because he was a demon. Although not as strong as humans, demons also had a sense of family love.
But this demon didn’t know what family was at all. He had been abandoned and neglected from birth, growing up like a weed. Although he had a biological mother, she had no interest or affection for the demon at all. Since his mother didn’t show him any affection, the demon also had no affection for her. He had felt nothing even when he saw her brutally murdered and killed during the war.
So, as a demon, he couldn’t possibly understand the affection this young human, Lee Jaeha, had for his family.
Even though he couldn’t understand it, it was so powerful that he was being taken over by it before he could even process it. That small coiled thing took deep root inside the demon, firmly establishing itself and extending its branches everywhere. It bound the demon as if it were a net.
No matter how much the demon tried to resist, his appearance gradually changed to look like the young Jaeha he had eaten, and his footsteps, driven by the fragmentary memories he had pulled out from within, eventually found the house and headed there.
The demon stood in front of a door with the most familiar number in an old apartment he had found. When he opened the door and went into the living room, a little girl with a face covered in tears and snot was lying alone on the cold floor, asleep. It seemed her parents were away, frantically searching for their missing son.
He found her.
He finally found her. The emotions of the young Jaeha flooded him. An overwhelming sense of relief, a joy mixed with sadness, and an innocent, pure affection.
My sister. My sister. See? Wasn’t I right? She’s crying again…….
Without even knowing whether the emotions were his or Jaeha’s, the demon approached the little girl. As soon as he saw her face, his legs gave out, and he plopped down next to her.
Lying there, the demon stared blankly at the little girl’s face. He gazed for a long time at her plump cheeks that subtly rose and fell with each soft breath right in front of him. The girl, who was fast asleep, looked like an ugly potato. He thought she was really ugly.
Thinking that, the demon wiped away the tears flowing down his cheeks. Tears, which he couldn’t even tell if they were his or Jaeha’s, kept welling up. He was submerged in a mix of emotions and cried for a long time without knowing why.
It’s you. The sister Jaeha had begged him to protect.

“Jaehaaa!”
Heesu was yelling and crying again. Ugh, so noisy.
The two siblings, who were both weak and scrawny, were being bullied by the neighborhood kids. To be exact, it was a daily occurrence for Jaeha to get beaten up somewhere and come back, then an angry Heesu would run out and get beaten up more, and the two would end up yelling and crying together.
The young Jaeha, upset that his sister was getting beaten up because of him, had resolved to grow up quickly and teach the bad kids a lesson. He had diligently drank his milk, but since he couldn’t do that now because of you, you had to protect his sister in his place. That was the young Jaeha’s argument.
What do you mean in your place? In my opinion, you couldn’t beat them even if you drank a truckload of milk.
You want me to fight those weak human brats? Ugh, f**k. How embarrassing.
But in the end, the demon gave the weak human brats a good beating.
“Jaeha… Jaeha……?”
Are you happy now? The demon looked at Heesu from among the sprawled-out brats.
But unlike the young Jaeha’s expectation, his sister wasn’t happy. Heesu, who had watched the scene, turned pale with fear, trembled, and backed away. She ran back home.
Oh, what the hell do you want from me?
“Mom, Jaeha’s weird. I think Jaeha’s a different person.”
—Slap.
The moment Heesu said that, a sound of something cutting through the wind and hitting something rang out.
Heesu’s head was instantly turned to the side, and her cheek immediately turned red and swelled up. Heesu covered her cheek with her hand and looked at her mom with a shocked expression. Her mom, who had just slapped her for the first time in her life, was scowling and screaming something. The little hand that was tightly holding her mom’s skirt was pushed away, and she was sent reeling backward. Her small body fell helplessly on its back.
Her son had been missing for a whole two weeks. During those two weeks, the woman was out of her mind. When she found her son just as she was about to give up, thinking he was dead, she became even more out of her mind. She would tremble with anxiety and constantly worry about what would happen if her son disappeared again, even for a moment. She began to obsess over her son pathologically.
To make matters worse, the son she had found after two weeks was somehow a little strange. He was the son she had carried in her womb and lovingly raised for seven years, so his mother couldn’t possibly not feel that his essence had changed. Still, she just thought of it as a trauma from what he had gone through during the time he was missing. She had to. It couldn’t be that the son she had barely found after two weeks was actually a different person.
So, she desperately went to all kinds of experts, got consultations and psychological treatment to try and get her son back to normal. As she was struggling so desperately, her daughter said aloud:
Mom, Jaeha’s weird. I think Jaeha’s a different person.
The woman, who was already on edge and extremely stressed, had a hysterical fit at her daughter’s words. She kept screaming at her daughter and pouring out terrifying words until her husband, who had rushed over, forcibly dragged her out.
Heesu buried herself in her blanket that night and sobbed silently. The demon lay awake in the next room, gritting his teeth. The soundless sobbing was somehow even more irritating than if she had been screaming her head off.
Oh, f**k. I helped you, and now you’re throwing a tantrum.
