Chapter 41
“Delicious! Alpha cooks well!”
Stuffing food into his mouth hastily, Rufus continuously exclaimed in admiration. Well, even Heesu, who had only eaten convenience store food, was moved by Violen’s cooking, so Rufus’s amazement, having only eaten dog food, would be even greater.
“Alpha is amazing! Strong and cooks well too!”
“Yes. Thank you very much.”
Violen, who had been picking at his food with chopsticks as if he had no appetite, replied dully with a lifeless voice. It seemed that being called “alpha” was quite uncomfortable to hear.
“Violen is strong?”
Heesu, who had doubts about a different point rather than the alpha part, tilted her head and asked. The Violen that Heesu remembered was a weak demon who had collapsed immediately after being hit once by a magic wand.
“Not really.”
“Strong! Super strong!”
“Werewolves usually have the habit of absolutely maintaining that hierarchy once they’re defeated.”
“So that’s why…….”
“No! He really is strong! I know everything!”
Rufus, who had swallowed the food he’d stuffed into his cheeks in one gulp, spoke passionately. It was passionate speech that everyone at the table brushed off indifferently.
“You eat well, Rufus…….”
Heesu looked at Rufus with admiration. Perhaps because he was an animal, he was eating an enormous amount. Since Violen always made too much food, there had been considerable food waste being thrown away, but from now on it looked like there would be no need to worry about that with his appetite.
“Alpha is strong and strict but cooks well too! Amazing! Cool person! I follow!”
Rufus’s eyes looking at Violen were now filled with admiration. For Violen, it was an unbearably burdensome gaze.
“But if Violen is the alpha…… what about Izzen? Wasn’t Izzen originally the alpha?”
Heesu looked toward Izzen with a trivial question. It was a casually thrown question, but perhaps because it was the master’s words, Rufus looked at Izzen seriously and thought deeply.
“No. That one…… not alpha…….”
“Then what?”
“That one is…… hmm…… um…….”
As Rufus was pondering, Izzen shook his head with a disgusted expression.
“Please leave me out of that. I don’t want to be included.”
“Thank you!”
Rufus gladly agreed immediately. It seemed he was a being too bothersome to even think about. Izzen seemed somewhat hurt, but soon sighed it off and shifted his gaze toward Heesu.
“Let’s go out together after we finish eating, Miss Heesu.”
“Huh, why? Patrol? Or did some demon appear somewhere?”
“No.”
“Then?”
Izzen put down his chopsticks and spoke resolutely.
“We’re going to exercise.”
“Ugh…….”
Heesu’s face instantly filled with displeasure. It was a similar expression to when she heard her mother’s nagging to stop playing and study while she was having fun.
“I don’t want to…….”
“This isn’t the time to dislike it, Miss Heesu. While you may be able to face demons with that stamina when you’re a magical girl, from now on there will be more times when you’ll need to move in your non-magical girl body, like during the mountain climbing last time. What could you possibly do with a body that collapses with muscle pain from just two hours of hiking? If you’re going to continue being a magical girl, stamina is essential. Let’s exercise regularly while we have leisure time to build up your stamina even a little more.”
“Ugh…….”
Heesu made a tearful face. As always, there were no flaws in Izzen’s logic. It was certainly correct too.
But she didn’t want to exercise. Heesu had always detested anything involving moving her body. Rather than wasting time on such useless activities, watching one more anime episode was much more efficient and valuable from Heesu’s perspective.
Heesu, who had become tearful, muttered with a dissatisfied voice.
“I’ve never seen any magical girl doing stamina training or anything like that…….”
“They probably didn’t have terrible stamina like you, Miss Heesu.”
“That’s…… true, but…….”
Heesu, who was at a loss for words, only let out pained groans. She couldn’t understand why only this aspect was annoyingly realistic when it wasn’t even just a magical girl show but a magical girl r**e story.
Suffering while pondering ways to escape from this quagmire, Heesu sent a look to Violen asking for help. She felt like he might be able to help her somehow. Fortunately, Violen, who quickly noticed that look, smiled smugly.
“I agree too.”
And he betrayed her.
“Violen…….”
Violen soothed Heesu, who was looking at him resentfully, with a gentle tone.
“I’ll do it with you, so let’s work hard. For your health too. Master is too weak.”
“…….”
Heesu was hurt by being called weak by someone weak.
Eventually giving up resistance, Heesu looked at the two men sitting in front of her with gloomy eyes while pressing her lips tightly together. It was a moment when the two somehow felt like dad and mom.
“Exercise! I love exercise! This is exciting!”
Meanwhile, only Rufus was excitedly chattering by himself.
