Chapter 44
Heesu shook her head back and forth. She even felt that there was no point in thinking such thoughts now.
“Ah.”
Heesu, who had raised her head, discovered something.
In the distance, she could see the figure standing who occupied the biggest portion of what had captured Heesu in such sentiments. He seemed to have been waiting for Heesu in front of the gate. Feeling suddenly overwhelmed with joy and precious emotions, Heesu ran to him in quick steps.
Watching this, Violen smiled prettily with eyes full of love as always. He gently extended his hand toward Heesu.
“Hand it over.”
“Gasp!”
Heesu, who had momentarily forgotten what she had done while caught up in sentiment, was startled and stepped backward. She hurriedly tried to hide the bag in her hand behind her back, but there was no way Violen would miss it. Before she knew it, a tentacle had flown behind Heesu’s back trying to snatch the bag. Heesu desperately held onto it while wailing.
“No! People can’t live like this!”
“It’s not that you can’t live like this, but that you shouldn’t live like that.”
“Don’t deny my way of life!”
“If that way of life is this kind of instant food, it deserves to be denied.”
“I don’t want to!”
“How cutely you’re playing around.”
“Huh?”
Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice interjected into the two people’s struggle. Looking back, someone was watching them and laughing. He slowly approached while casting a black shadow over them. Both Heesu and Violen’s gazes turned toward him simultaneously.
“Hello.”
He greeted them.
Standing there was a tall man with long, flowing red hair. Between that hair were two horns curved round like a goat’s, and behind his back were large black wings in the form of a bat. He was truly a man with an unrealistic appearance.
But even more unrealistic than that was his beauty. Though Violen, Rufus, and Izzen were handsome, this man possessed a different dimension of handsomeness. The atmosphere emanating from the combination of his elongated eyes, thin lips, and sharp facial lines was so bewitching it seemed like it would enchant people immediately. Even though he was a man, he had the kind of face that perfectly suited the word “bewitching.”
“Step back.”
Heesu, who had unknowingly been entranced by that beauty, suddenly came to her senses only when Violen blocked in front of her. Watching this, the man laughed as if amused.
“Surprising, Violen. Were you a demon who could become such a loyal dog?”
At those words, Heesu’s eyes widened.
“You know each other?”
“Somewhat.”
Violen answered without hiding his unpleasant expression. On the other hand, the other party maintained a relaxed attitude.
“We met often in the ladies’ bedrooms, didn’t we? Since we had similar jobs.”
“…….”
At those words, Violen’s face crumpled even more.
Heesu instinctively realized that the man before her was a very uncomfortable existence for Violen. Heesu pointed at him with her finger and whispered to Violen.
“Is he a bad demon?”
“……All demons are originally bad, Master.”
“……Ah, right.”
When Violen replied as if it was absurd, Heesu brought back the finger she had extended with an awkward expression. No matter how she thought about it, she had adapted far too well during this time.
But the man who heard that conversation smiled mysteriously and spoke meaningfully.
“Hehe… as expected of a magical girl. To grasp my identity at a glance…….”
At those words, Heesu’s expression became ambiguous. She was confused about whether she should go along with those words or object to them. She had no idea how she should react.
Toward such a Heesu, Violen whispered.
“Master. Be careful. That demon is…….”
“Dangerous?”
“Well, yes. If you call it dangerous, it is dangerous, but…….”
When Violen trailed off, Heesu looked at him with a furrowed brow.
According to Izzen’s words, lower-class demons in bestial form were called demons, while higher-class demons closer to human appearance were called demon race. Since demons could become demon race when they became stronger, Violen and Rufus had been humanized under her influence. But this man here had a form close to human from the beginning. In other words, he was a high-class demon.
Heesu glared at him while maintaining her guard and asked.
“So, you’re…… saying you’re a bad demon?”
“That’s right. Everyone fails to notice because of this beauty…… but to grasp it immediately, quite impressive.”
Saying this, the man magnificently swept back his hair. It was a fatally attractive gesture. Although what he said sounded somewhat screw-loose, Heesu still tried not to let her guard down. If he was strong enough to be a high-class demon and bad on top of that, he was definitely dangerous as Violen said.
The man crossed his arms elegantly and looked down at Heesu arrogantly while commanding.
“Now, transform.”
“What?”
At those words, Heesu looked at him with an incredulous expression. The man continued speaking with a serious expression without the slightest wavering.
“Since a magical girl has met a demon, you should fight, shouldn’t you? And to fight, you need to transform. So hurry up and transform. I’ll wait for you.”
“Hmm…….”
Heesu also crossed her arms and pondered for a moment. Though it was a bit strange, no matter how she thought about it, it was logic without any particular flaws. Though she felt somewhat uneasy, Heesu eventually took out the compact she had stuffed in her pocket and opened it.
