“Please accept this.”

The man said that while holding something out. Heesu accepted it reverently with both hands, her face full of emotion.

Looking closely at what had come into her hands, its flat and round shape was just like a compact. In the center of the pink body was a golden heart decoration with wings attached, and embedded in that heart decoration was a sparkling, clear pink crystal gem. The compact was cute and charming, exactly the kind of thing that would appear in magical girl stories.

……Is it okay to carry something like this around at my age?

Heesu, who had momentarily thought such a thing, shook her head vigorously. She didn’t really want to acknowledge the fact that becoming a magical girl at this age was itself ridiculous.

“You can open it.”

“Yes.”

Heesu nodded at the man’s words and carefully opened the compact’s lid.

Light leaked through the opening gap, and soon pure white flashes poured out. It was such intense light that she couldn’t see properly. That light instantly enveloped Heesu’s body.

Heesu’s body floated into the air and spun around gracefully. Her hair, which had been tied up tightly, spilled down and fluttered softly. Her ordinary black hair, which had been just a bit longer than shoulder-length, grew long enough to reach her ankles while changing to a sparkling pink color.

Heesu’s clothes gradually disappeared as a heart-shaped pink crystal gem appeared below her neck. From that gem, thin red strings shot out, drawing the shape of the outfit Heesu would wear. Above, it wrapped around her neck in a China collar style, and below, it curved around her chest area.

A heart-shaped pink crystal gem also appeared slightly below her chest. From there, like a flower blooming, golden heart shapes and red ribbons sprouted forth. Pink fabric wrapped around her body, becoming a short dress, with white frills forming abundantly at the ends and fluttering. Behind her back as well, strings tied in sequence like a corset, with ribbons forming below and waving. Pure white lace gloves appeared on her hands, and red boots were put on her legs.

Her fluttering hair split to both sides and was tied in twin-tail form, hanging down long. It was long enough to reach below her knees. Heesu, now in the complete form of a magical girl, opened her eyes.

Light gathered before her eyes, and she could see a small pillar phenomenon being created. As if drawn to it, Heesu brought her hand toward it and grasped what appeared to be a handle, causing light to scatter in all directions as its form changed. It was a magic wand with a golden heart with wings above the handle. It was the same shape as the decoration on the compact, but being much larger, the pink crystal sparkled even more brilliantly. It seemed as if it was emitting light by itself. Around it, golden rings were arranged in a circle, adding to its sparkle.

Heesu, holding the magic wand, slowly landed on the ground.

‘Amazing, I really transformed!’

Suppressing the urge to shout that out, Heesu first frantically examined her own body. She was so excited that she didn’t even care about the gazes around her.

The man approached such a Heesu and said:

“You may still feel unfamiliar with your appearance……. But right now, defeating the enemy takes priority.”

“Yes!”

Heesu answered spiritedly and took a spirited step forward. Gripping the magic wand tightly in her hand, she ran forward excitedly.

The demon, which had politely waited until Heesu finished transforming and preparing for battle, stretched its root-like appendages toward Heesu as if it had been waiting. Heesu dodged them this way and that while running toward the demon’s eye.

Her body moved with unbelievable agility. Even though she was moving quite vigorously, she wasn’t even out of breath. In that state, Heesu tilted her head in confusion. She had expected that some kind of magic spell would automatically come to mind by this point, but nothing came to her.
