Vladimir’s groans simmered low in her ear. She couldn’t take it. She squeezed her eyes shut. Every time they did this, what excited her most was the whisper of her name. Her friend’s voice, once warm as milk when he called out ‘Milana!’ with affection, now clung thickly to her ear, soaked in dark pleasure.

Why did he keep asking… over and over like that, so obsessive.

“Milana, want to go to my room today?”
This couldn’t go on. Just for tonight, he decided. He’d feed her a proper meal made by the best chef. Then let her sleep deeply in a fine bed. He’d always wanted this. To stamp himself into every part of her daily life. But he’d never been able to suggest it. The traces she hated were still in that room.
“Why…?”
The dark circles under her eyes were stark.
