Chapter 103
If he didn’t keep his distance from her, he felt he might be overtaken by the desire to pin her beneath him just like this. But before anything else, there were many things he wanted to ask.
However, when he actually had Lea in front of him, he couldn’t bring himself to speak. No matter what, he couldn’t pretend not to know that she had devoted herself to him.
Meanwhile, Lea’s body trembled with fear. He had found out everything. He’d even realized that she was trying to run away, so she had no idea how to begin explaining.
“Speak.”
As she shook, unable to even lift her head, Calix opened his mouth as if granting her mercy, but instead, it had the opposite effect.
His voice was so low it was chilling, and her fear only grew.
It felt like she’d returned to the relationship they had before the regression, and Lea wanted to hide. But the only place she could hide was the jacket given to her by the very person threatening her.
Lea gripped the jacket tightly with both hands, only opening her mouth soundlessly. All at once, the memories of her vanished past up to the present rushed through her mind as if she’d reached her limit.
The guilt and anguish she’d pressed down burst forth as if a dam had broken.
“I’m sorry. Truly, I’m sorry.”
Not even knowing exactly why he was angry, she just begged blindly.
“For what?”
Even though she was crying like a child, Calix didn’t bat an eye. Instead, his tightly closed lips slowly loosened.
“For… for everything.”
She felt sorry for everything, including the fact that she had come back to life.
“No, Lea.”
Calix denied her words and slowly closed the distance between them. His manner was as cautious as a hunter cornering his prey.
“Your mistake is—”
As he spoke, he reached her, and with an expressionless face, slowly stretched out his hand. As soon as his hand touched her round, trembling shoulder, he pulled her firmly into his embrace.
“It’s that you hid your true identity all this time.”
Only after Lea was in his arms did he let out a languid smile and whispered in a voice filled with possessiveness and delight.
Because she’d spent so long running away and had reached her limit, Lea was so overwhelmed by his fierce presence that she inadvertently let her fox ears return to their original form.
“How dare you. You’ve belonged to me from the very beginning.”
As he stroked her fox ears with his fingertips, his gaze lingered darkly on the pendant hanging from her collar.
The pendant, proof that he was the owner of this fox.
Lowering himself slowly, Calix faced Lea’s golden eyes as she dEsperately clutched the jacket, and then he leisurely slipped the jacket off her.
“Ah, hnnh…”
When her naked body was revealed, Lea closed her eyes tightly in shame. Calix let out a low laugh from deep in his throat.
“It’s not as if it’s the first time I’ve seen you. Is it really that embarrassing?”
At his words, Lea’s body shook violently. Everything she had been doing until now was now thoroughly exposed before him.
He was completely satisfied with her snow-white body, clad in nothing but the crescent moon pendant he’d given her.
Kneeling before her on the bed, Calix brought his arms behind her back as if to embrace her.
Lea instinctively tried to retreat, but her tail was suddenly caught, forcing her to stay still.
“Mmm, it feels exactly the same as Luna’s fur.”
Each time he skillfully ran his fingers through her fur, Lea didn’t know where to look. She was so surprised that even the tears that had been falling stopped, and thick, transparent drops clung to her lashes.
As he gazed at those tears and savored the feeling of her fur, he slowly ran his hand up her back and slid his fingers through her hair.
It was just like the fur, or maybe even a little softer. As he stroked her hair, he brushed the teardrops hanging from her chin with his tongue and tasted them.
