Ilion savored the power that was as good as being reborn, then gathered energy in his hand and lightly tapped the table.

BANG!

He had only knocked on it as if knocking on a door, but the broad, round marble table began to split with a crackling sound, like the frozen surface of a lake breaking apart.

It wasn’t quite ground into powder, but the table shattered into such small pieces that the retainers were left gaping. Not just them, even Aaron was left open-mouthed in shock.

“Bwahahaha!”

Immersed in his overflowing energy, Ilion left the scene of his own disaster behind and ran outside. He rushed not to the banquet hall but to the training grounds.

His body was itching to try out his new abilities as soon as possible.

After he disappeared, a heavy silence descended upon the conference room. Many there had watched Ilion grow up since he was a child.

They knew he was strong, but this level of brute strength was new. Could a marble table really shatter from a tap weaker than a knock?

Aaron could not bring himself to scold his second son for making this mess. On the contrary, he felt an overwhelming excitement.

Just as Zion had said, if this was the result of receiving regular guiding, he couldn’t even begin to imagine what might happen, and that made his heart race with anticipation.

Unaware of what had happened in the conference room, Zion devotedly took care of Lea. Everything in the guest room where she was staying was prepared to the highest standard.

Lea lay down, her tired body resting on the couch. When Rose occasionally popped sweet fruit into her mouth, she chewed slowly and rested.

Zion gazed at Lea for a long while. He liked seeing her so at ease in his mansion.

When he began to feel the desire to keep her there forever, a soft knock sounded and the door opened.

“Lady Haisley.”

Derek, dressed up from head to toe and holding a bouquet of flowers, appeared. Zion’s eyebrow twitched in displeasure.

“Young Marquis Felitier. What’s with the flowers?”

“I wanted to give them to you as a gift, since we’re meeting outside the palace. Don’t you think they resemble you, my lady?”

His shy smile suited his pretty features well. Derek, with his neatly swept jet-black hair, seemed to be positively shining. With his tall stature and long limbs, he wore today’s black suit exceptionally well.

As an accent, he wore a chain made of gold and blue sapphire on his shirt collar—elegant and ornate at once. It gave a completely different impression from the cravats most noblemen wore.

This was a trendy item that Lea herself had once designated.

“Young Marquis, you’ve become a full-fledged merchant lord now.”

He had surely worn the chain to promote his merchant guild.

“As expected, I knew Your Ladyship would recognize it.”

“Mm, are those uniquely cut cufflinks the work of the craftsman you mentioned last time?”

“Yes, that’s right. It took quite some effort to hire him.”

“He must have been worth it, then?”

“Just as you said, truly.”

The conversation flowed naturally into business matters, and the two chatted amiably. Watching this, Zion felt strangely left out. So, he quietly walked over and sat by Lea’s feet.

Since she had taken off her shoes to rest, her small foot peeked out from under her dress. Without hesitation, Zion took Lea’s foot in his hand.

“Ah, Sir Zion!”

Startled, Lea turned from Derek to look at Zion. Sitting with his long legs stretched out, he wore a classic style suit, unlike Derek.

His dark blue suit, tinged with blue, suited his deep blue eyes and contrasted with his fiery red hair.

Like other noblemen, he wore a cravat, but his was embroidered with gold thread, giving it an elegant yet splendid feel. He wore the Grayson family’s crest as a brooch, lending him an air of traditional dignity.

To soothe the surprised Lea, Zion gently massaged her ankle as he explained,

“If you receive a massage before putting your shoes back on, you’ll feel much more comfortable.”

“Oh, but…”

“You’ve come all the way to my residence, so of course I should take care of you in this way.”
