Was it because things had changed? In the past, even in dreams, she’d been desperate to beg his forgiveness, but this dream was different.

He was a little brusque, but there was gentleness inside, and this time, she found the courage to speak.

The truth is, I did it because I loved you so much.

After so many years under violence, her twisted mind had come to hold a warped kind of love. She hadn’t even realized it was attention, let alone love.

It was only after everything was ruined that she understood what she had done was, after all, love.

Still, even though I knew it was a dream, I wanted to express my feelings to the Calix of the past. Now, I felt like I could endure it, even if he looked at me with an expression of contempt.

Ever since I acknowledged my wrongdoing, I was afraid, but not to the point where I couldn’t face it. If you keep running away, nothing ever gets resolved.

So, I expressed my love for him with my whole body. I told him I loved him, that there was no one but him. That I had only ever looked at him in my previous life, and that in this life too, I would live only looking at him—even if it ended as unrequited love.

I shouted all of that as much as I could, but just then, Calix—who until now had only been smiling—suddenly twisted his expression. He looked as if he was angry about my confession.

For a moment, I was so scared my heart dropped, but soon, realizing this was a dream, I just smiled again.

This is my dream, so it’s okay.

Lea murmured such things to myself.

Then Calix, who had been silently watching her, let out a sigh and said something, but Lea didn’t hear it. It was because of the sound, like wet fabric being slapped against the floor, that had been echoing for a while now.

Instead, her heated body was warmly wrapped in an embrace. Even though it was filled with heat, it felt cool, and she rubbed her cheek against something smooth.

When she did, that smooth something moved. Finding it both fascinating and amusing, she rubbed her other cheek, and a voice dropped down from above her crown.

It was a low and rough voice, but always the one she had strained to hear.

“Ha, you’re so honest when you’re in heat.”

As if to add, ‘I like it,’ he let out a quiet sigh and murmured to himself again.

“Ha, I wasn’t talking to myself. We’re having a conversation right now.”

Lea wanted to say that she hadn’t done such a thing.

“…It’s cute and I like it, but will you even remember this later?”

His grumbling voice was strangely pleasant to hear, so she just pressed her face to his cool skin.

“Well, as long as I remember, isn’t that enough?”

She liked how he would grumble one moment, then laugh innocently the next. In her dreamy, languid, and ever-rolling waves of pleasure, Lea made contented noises and arched her back.

It was such a happy dream that she didn’t want to wake up from it for a while.

Lea came to her senses, but she couldn’t even open her eyes or sit up. It was as if someone had placed a heavy boulder on top of her body.

The more she struggled to get free, the more the boulder pressed down on her. Not only that, but an embarrassing place felt odd.

As she twisted, trying to move her body somehow, a large hand pressed firmly on her back, and a low voice fell from above her head.

“It’s still dawn…”

The sunken tone let her know he’d just woken up. But instead, that voice drove away all traces of sleep for Lea.

“…Huh?”

She forced her swollen eyes open. The first thing she saw was a pale chest covered in red marks.

“……”

Anyone could tell that the red marks were bruises left by lips. That familiar chest was certainly Calix’s, but who had made these marks? He couldn’t have done it himself…

She was idly thinking such foolish things when the chest before her suddenly shook.

“Ahaha, good grief, I’m going to lose my mind.”

Calix ran a hand through his dark brown hair, laughing repeatedly. Stroking her hair gently, he spoke.

“How can you still say everything you’re thinking out loud? Because of you, I’m experiencing all sorts of psychic phenomena for the first time.”

For some reason, the words didn’t seem to enter her brain properly. No, it felt like they didn’t even pass through her eardrums, bouncing right off.

She just blinked blankly for a moment, and he let out another soft laugh and whispered,

“It tickles, Lea.”

“Ah, sorry…”

She reflexively apologized, then suddenly sat up.

“Why? Are you thirsty?”

“…No?”

“Then why are you getting up? I told you, it’s still dawn. Go back to sleep.”

“I think I’ve slept enough.”

“Hmph, why must you sleep during your entire heat cycle.”

“……!”

At those words, Lea couldn’t keep her composure. How did he know about her heat? No, before that… Why was Calix here, in her palace right now?
