Chapter 142
Lining them up, Lea moved down the row, giving each Esper a brief guiding and checking their condition. The palace physician who had accompanied them examined the regular soldiers.
Following Lea’s instructions, the physician asked each soldier a few simple questions before letting them go. Each soldier was given a jar of ointment as well.
“Don’t take small wounds lightly, just apply the ointment right away. If you feel like the wound is deep, come find the physician immediately. This goes for Esper soldiers too. Don’t get cocky just because you’re an Esper. For any small injury, always apply this ointment at once.”
All the soldiers listened closely to Lea’s words. Having already heard the rumors about her, their faces were full of trust.
“To win a war, the most important thing is to maintain your condition. Even if His Highness the Imperial Crown Prince has brilliant tactics, without soldiers to support them, they’re useless. Understood?”
Her tone was gentle, but her gaze was so serious that no one took her words lightly.
The physician and Lea worked in perfect sync as they examined the troops. The line quickly grew shorter, and soon the chef began serving out meals. It was a very efficient use of time.
From a distance, Calix’s group watched the scene in admiration.
“I’m not even a little jealous of the Espers from Leonis.”
Eric murmured as he watched quietly.
Ilion responded in an excited voice.
“I bet Lady Lea’s worth a hundred Guides from Leonis.”
“Hmm, I think you’re right.”
Zion agreed with Ilion, and Derek nodded as he added.
“There’s probably no other Guide who can provide such systematic guiding as the Lady.”
It was clearly praise for Lea, but Calix felt irritated. He wanted to be the only one to praise her. So, in a deliberately solemn voice, he admonished them all.
“Don’t be so quick to praise her. What if you get carried away during war and make a mistake?”
“……”
At his words, all four around him fell silent at once. They seemed to understand the true meaning behind what he said.
Receiving their disloyal looks all at once, Calix cleared his throat awkwardly and moved away.
With swift and confident steps, he approached Lea, who had just finished guiding the last Esper.
“Sister, aren’t you overexerting yourself on the first day?”
“It’s almost done.”
After finishing her notes on the list, Lea spoke to the last Esper soldier, not even glancing at Calix.
“Refrain from using your abilities unnecessarily. In an emergency, I may not be able to guide you. Keep that in mind.”
Calix raised one eyebrow at Lea’s rather firm tone. It was a different side from the one she’d shown while guiding the Espers earlier.
After the last Esper greeted Calix, who was standing awkwardly at Lea’s side, and left, Lea stood up with the list. Then, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, she took his hand and strolled away with him.
He let himself be led by her. The place they entered was Calix’s tent. As soon as the flaps were closed, Lea stood on tiptoe and pressed her lips to his.
It was only then that Calix snapped out of his daze. The corners of his mouth curled up on their own.
‘As expected, the only one Sister treats specially is me.’
Welcoming Lea’s affectionate gesture, he quickly parted his lips to welcome her small tongue. Her dainty tongue, just right for her little mouth, lightly touched his thick flesh, sending a thrilling sensation racing through him.
Whether it was because of the guiding, or simply excitement, it was hard to tell. But what did it matter? The important thing was that his fox was here in his arms.
He wrapped his arms around Lea’s waist, gently lifting her up onto the tops of his feet. As they continued their kiss, he moved with her as if they were dancing together as one.
He sat down naturally on the prepared bed, settling her on his thigh, and began to truly explore the inside of her mouth.
There wasn’t a single part of her that wasn’t soft, inside or out. That’s why, once he touched her, it was so hard to stop.
