‘Still?’

Tears involuntarily sprang from my eyes, filled with frustration at the unending affair. Surely it was time to let go after tormenting someone to this extent.

My entire body was drenched in sweat, not just from the exertion but because the alcohol had long since worn off, leaving only exhaustion so profound I could barely twitch a finger.
