“I don’t know, so figure it out yourself!”

“You’re so mean.”

Regret throbbed in my head as I considered how things had escalated to this point. Clinging to the last shreds of my sanity, I left Edgar alone in the room and walked out.

It was not until the evening that he managed to calm his lust and come out to the living room.

“I’m sorry, Chloe. Did you wait long?”

Edgar asked, his short blonde hair slipping behind his ears as he gave a sheepish smile.

Curiously, he seemed more drained than I, yet his face still held a flush of color. I had no energy left to criticize, so I stated simply,

“From now on, you are not allowed in my bedroom.”

“Why!”

His expression was too wounded for me to retort that was he asking because really he didn’t know.

“Don’t do this, Chloe. Don’t drive me away. If I’m even slightly apart from you, I might just die of loneliness.”

“You won’t die, so don’t worry.”

“Hngg.”

He whimpered, naturally leaning into me, but I pushed him away and checked the bed.

The sheets, which I had postponed washing because they were decently clean, were now filthy, marked with Edgar’s se-en as if an animal had staked its territory.

Having witnessed my teacher’s naked body, viewed him pleasuring himself, and unexpectedly received his c-m on my face for the first time in my life, I was in shock and confusion. I was unsure of what to do first.

I realized the most immediate priority.

“…Where am I going to sleep tonight?”

I decided to start with the laundry.

* * *

Beyond the cabin’s windows, the dense trees rustled. Hidden among the leaves, an owl cried out, its mournful call seemingly empathizing with my plight of having to sleep on the hard living room sofa instead of my plush bed.

The damp sheets did not dry in a day. I had attempted to dry them with fire magic, but nearly burned them. It seemed that some things, like blankets, are best dried by the natural sun and wind.

“It’s cramped.”

As I shifted position, the presence behind me stirred.

“Is it too cramped?”

Edgar, who had insisted on squeezing onto the already tight sofa with me, asked.

“And what about you, Edgar?”

Though I was uncomfortable, Edgar, with his long limbs awkwardly folded to fit, looked even more so. His limbs sticking out over the edges of the sofa. I couldn’t understand why he would go to such lengths to share such a small space.

“You should be uncomfortable, go sleep in the bed. That way, I can have the sofa to myself.”

“You’re so kind to worry about me, Chloe.”

I hadn’t really been expressing concern before Edgar leaned in close. His eyes were glittering in the faint moonlight that filtered through the window gaps. The closeness in the darkness made his body heat and breathing feel especially clear.

The hug was too affectionate to be just a hug. Edgar, as a teacher, was kind but always seemed to maintain a detached responsibility toward me.

“Chloe?”

His amethyst eyes sparkled enchantingly in the dark. The kiss that followed was one of many he had given that day. Just like his confession.

“I like you.”

A wave of emotions I had been suppressing threatened to burst forth out of the box.

“Don’t say things you’ll regret. Let’s just sleep.”

I didn’t want to face him any more. I turned away deliberately.

After a bit of whining, Edgar pressed his body close to mine and quickly fell silent. Glancing back, I saw him sleeping peacefully.

It was rare for someone who often complained of insomnia. His broad chest rose and fell with each breath, and his eyelids remained undisturbed.

“You keep me awake and then you’re the only one who gets to sleep?”

I felt wronged, but I couldn’t just wake him up. Knowing too much about my teacher who was now influenced by the potion, I couldn’t sleep.

More than anything, I was worried about what lay ahead.

‘This is a mess.’

The situation was far more serious than I had initially anticipated.

Just moments ago, Edgar had done something that the Edgar I knew would never have considered. If things continued this way, irreparable consequences might come.

My greatest worry was about what would happen after Edgar returned to his normal self.

Given that he did it himself, unless he chose to purposely erase his memory, he would eventually recall everything. What if the clear-minded Edgar was to despise himself—or worse, blame me for creating the potion?

“Um…”

The man clung to my back whined childishly, his body radiating heat. Yet, my heart was colder than ever.

If that were to really happen.
