Chapter 13
Even when he consciously tried not to think about anything, his manhood tensed up on its own. There were even moments when regulating his breath itself became a stimulation.
Celesto straightened his back.
Was it because the curse’s symptoms had subsided for the first time in a while? The quiet of the quarters felt particularly still.
It was so calm and peaceful, yet for some reason, prayers wouldn’t come to mind.
Even when he tried to recall familiar words, it was the same. Nothing formed into sentences.
Even without the abnormal sensations created by the curse.
Celesto furrowed his brow. His concentration just wouldn’t hold. Other images kept intruding.
That face of Roarna’s.
“…”
Actually, it wasn’t just her face. The sound of Roarna’s collar crumpling whenever she twisted her hips, the shaking bed, even the soft and warm heat that rose along his manhood.
Celesto gritted his teeth. He felt the familiar tension rising through his lower abdomen.
At this point, it was certain. Something was strange whenever he was involved with Roarna.
The curse was the same. He hadn’t been in his right mind for the entire month, but until Roarna arrived at the townhouse, the symptoms hadn’t been this severe.
Yes, he had never completely lost his mind like when he was alone with Roarna. It was also the first time he had ever so desperately wanted to do something about this damn d**k of his.
Did the curse get worse?
If so, he would have to meet Roarna a bit more often. It wasn’t a very welcome prospect.
Celesto eventually gave up on continuing his prayer and rose from his spot. And among his meager possessions, he picked up the one item that wasn’t his.
An old, worn-out prayer book—one of the few remnants of Leocel Castañor.
It was an object that reminded him that the man who had even changed his career path due to intellectual desire was found dead in a corner of the monastery.
Celesto knew both Leocel and Roarna well. So he could be certain.
Roarna definitely knew that Leocel was doing something dangerous. More accurately than Celesto himself had vaguely guessed.
Yet Roarna didn’t stop Leocel until the end.
Of course, Celesto didn’t think Leocel died because of Roarna. After all, the one who chose and the one who acted was Leocel himself.
But… couldn’t it still be uncomfortable? The fact that a taboo scholar, more knowledgeable than anyone about dangerous knowledge, had neglected the danger to his brother.
After Leocel died, Celesto grew distant from Roarna. There was no clear rift, but they reminded each other of Leocel’s death.
And so, five years passed.
Fortunately or unfortunately, the reunion itself was so uneventful it was almost trivial.
With nothing to apologize for and nothing to blame, they simply exchanged brief greetings and got down to business.
But having to continue seeing Roarna was a different story.
And I have to keep doing *that* until the curse is broken.
Celesto idly flipped through the prayer book out of habit. Between pages densely filled with Leocel’s notes, his favorite prayer appeared.
His green eyes stared blankly down at the printed letters.
Here it goes again. His eyes were on the prayer book, but his mind was replaying an entirely different moment.
The moment when her breathless, moist lips couldn’t even properly form moans.
*Thump.*
Celesto gripped his thigh tightly. He put strength into his hand until it hurt, just as he had done for the entire month, but the e******n still wouldn’t subside.
“It’s like a joke…”
Celesto muttered blankly.
He was uncomfortable with Roarna. Not only had he never been comfortable with her to begin with, but she reminded him of Leocel’s death.
“Giving me the certainty that his death wasn’t natural.”
Eventually, Celesto let go of his thigh.
He looked at Leocel’s prayer book lying on the table.
Celesto didn’t think Leocel had ‘died of illness.’
His brother was a completely different type from the scholars who neglected their health while obsessing over knowledge. He was a vigorous man, energetic enough to relieve his urges with a pretty-faced eccentric.
He was also fit enough to search through the vast ruins of the old chapel.
Therefore, Celesto intended to visit the ruins of the old chapel again. At least until he found out what Leocel had been searching for.
To do that, he had to do something about this damn curse. Either relieve it completely, or suppress it enough to endure.
Either way, right now he needed Roarna Valseren.
“Hoo… damn.”
After muttering every kind of word a devout Holy Knight shouldn’t utter, Celesto took out some letter paper from the drawer.
No matter how awkward the relationship, he had to meet her before the curse flared up again.
