Chapter 233
“Mother, it’s not her, right? The person standing there can’t be her. Please tell me I’m seeing this wrong, Mother!”
Their screams weren’t mere instinctive cries at witnessing horror. They were deeper, personal, leaving a mark on anyone’s heart.
The audience faced the suddenly reappearing figures of lost childhood friends, past lovers, and those they held dear in forms they had never imagined.
[You said you loved me!]
[I tried to meet you one last time before giving up… I tried…]
[You were playing with me all along, you trash! Die, just die!]
They called Nathan’s name and cursed him. Sebelia watched as if she were an audience to a living nightmare.

The chaos persisted for some time. Wails and screams denying reality.
Among them, some regained their senses and began to act.
“Yes, it’s that person. Young Marquis Wheddon. How could I not have thought of this? You were the one lurking around Lilia months ago…!”
“I will take full responsibility, Your Highness. Please, even for a single day, lock him in the underground prison!”
Shateian closed his eyes, smiling faintly. Scanning the room, his gaze landed sharply on Dehart.
“Duke, if you have something to say, speak.”
“It won’t be me. She will speak.”
Dehart carefully guided Sebelia through the crowd. Wobbly and disoriented, she lifted her head.
Her blue eyes burned eerily with focus. Only now did the crowd realize that Nathan wasn’t alone in the room.
“I request that Nathan Wheddon be imprisoned in the imperial underground jail for kidnapping, false imprisonment, and attempted murder, Your Highness.”
“That’s an extreme demand, Miss Bella Appenz. But why should I comply? Your claim has no evidence. If you present these as evidence… then I would have to summon every spirit in the world to the court.”
Shateian studied the fading illusions.
“I never intended to summon them to court.”
Shateian’s eyes narrowed at her calm words.
“Then what is it?”
“Uncle, please bring the teacups and teapot on the table.”
Claude, who had been quietly observing, moved. Leaping over the illusions, he retrieved the teacups and teapot.
“This tea was served to me by Nathan Wheddon. And it contains a new type of confession d**g, made from ingredients banned in the Empire.”
Sebelia took two small crystal vials from Claude: one clear, one blue.
“So, what do you intend to do with this?”
Shateian, intrigued, hid a smile. Sebelia proceeded exactly as planned.
“Administer the tea to one of the servants lying over there. Observe the effects and symptoms. This will show you the danger of the confession d**g Nathan intended to give me, and the potential impact if it spreads among the people.”
Shateian paused deliberately, tilting his head, buying time. Behind him, a low growl sounded.
“If you don’t do it, I will.”
Balak whispered to him alone. Shateian finally laughed. There’s nothing he can do, he has to end the teasing
“Very well. Follow Miss Appenz’s instructions. But this won’t explain the hellish scene entirely. Miss Appenz will need to come to me separately to testify.”
That day, Nathan Wheddon was imprisoned in the imperial underground jail by Prince Shateian. By the time Silas received the news, it was already too late.

“Dillion, do something! Your brother has imprisoned my brother without evidence! He confined an innocent man in that horrid place!”
Nelia’s sharp voice echoed through the room. Having anticipated the failure, Dillion had already taken her away from the chaos and frowned.
“We can only wait and observe.”
“For how long?”
That day, the nobles who witnessed the hellish scene had looked at her the same way they now looked at Nathan.
The searing, cold glare, combined with being falsely accused without evidence, shocked Nelia deeply.
“Even now, you could announce that she’s manipulating illusions to slander us. Why stop it?”
“Enough! Nathan Wheddon was apprehended on the spot for kidnapping and attempted murder of Bella Appenz. How many times must I explain before you understand?”
