“I have proof that the Eastern faction, led by the First Queen, has long been using the underground organization known as Setaar to undermine the Empire.”

“Ha.”

The Emperor collapsed back into his chair. For a moment, with his face buried in his hands, he looked as if he’d aged decades in an instant.

But the next moment, he lowered his hands, and his eyes blazed with an intensity that could never be extinguished.

“You say you have proof?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

“In that case, name your terms, Duke. I know full well you wouldn’t do all this out of the goodness of your heart.”

Dehart smiled softly, nodded, and stated what he wanted.

“All I want is for the Second Queen and the Third Prince to never show themselves before Rosalyn again. They dared to take my sister’s loved ones hostage and demanded she marry into their line. They must pay for that.”

The Emperor let out a weary, incredulous sigh.

“Unbelievable. But, well, if the First First Queen plotted treason, why should the Second Queen be any different?”

Rubbing his forehead and groaning, the Emperor continued.

“But first, bring me the evidence to support your claims. Tomorrow, in front of me, you’ll present what you have and then I’ll decide.”

So, after a long night, Sebelia was finally able to leave the palace.

* * *

“Ah…”

Sebelia paused to take in the sunset sky, but then her legs gave out. She nearly tumbled down the stairs, but Dehart caught her just in time.

“Bella!”

Coming to her senses, she slowly blinked her eyes, her pale cheeks flushing with fever.

“I’m sorry. Wake me up…when we get home.”

She was finally letting herself relax. Dehart nodded.

“Don’t worry about anything. When you open your eyes again, there’ll be nothing left to worry about.”

Dehart murmured that she could sleep for a week if she wanted, and Sebelia let out a breathy laugh, closing her eyes.

* * *

Perhaps Dehart’s wish had come true.

Even after returning home, Sebelia stayed unconscious for quite some time. She’d pushed her body far past its limits—enough that her familiar was forcibly dismissed.

Two weeks passed in this way.

During that time, the trial for the First Queen and her Eastern faction wrapped up, as did the punishment for the guards and security bribed by Silas, and even Dehart’s former physician, Roden.

While investigating the deceased Gren’s actions, they also uncovered the misdeeds of Rash Inverness and Flora Inverness. But as they hadn’t directly participated in the coup, their case would be handled by the North.

Meanwhile, the Second Queen and the Third Prince were imprisoned in a tower outside the capital, convicted of attempting to force Inverness’s heiress into a marriage through blackmail.

Thus, the imperial succession was left with only Prince Shateian.

While everyone was busy restoring order, Sebelia finally emerged from her deep sleep and returned to the world.

“Ah…”

She felt as if she’d had a wonderful dream. Wrapped in a pleasant haze, Sebelia smiled as she opened her eyes—only to blink in confusion, not recognizing her surroundings at first.

Her blue eyes fluttered in surprise, and a soft sigh escaped her lips.

Right, I made it back home…

How many days have passed? She tried to sit up, grimacing at her sluggish body, when suddenly, a sharp gasp sounded from across the room.

It was Dehart.

“Bella…”

How long had he been waiting there? He leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching her with dark, unreadable eyes. Now, as if in disbelief, he called her name a few more times before nearly stumbling over to her.

“Ah—”

Before Sebelia could react, he wrapped her in a warm embrace. His breath was hot against her ear as he let out a relieved sigh.

“You’re awake. That’s all that matters. Are you hungry? Just wait here for a moment.”

Smiling with barely contained joy, he kissed her forehead and cheeks again and again before finally standing up and rushing from the room.

“…Um… huh?”

Sebelia dazedly touched her cheeks.

After that, she had a steady stream of visitors—but was so flustered by all the kisses that her memory of it was hazy.

I think Watts came to check on me and was relieved that I was in better shape than he expected…

Still a little dazed, Sebelia absentmindedly broke a cookie in half. Just then, Claude arrived, arms full of food.

“You still haven’t finished even one of those?”

“Ah.”

She vaguely recalled that Claude had visited earlier with Rosalyn and brought her lots of things.

Yes, Rosalyn seemed much better than I’d expected…

The last time Sebelia saw Rosalyn, she’d been badly wounded and nearly spent from using her power. But today, she looked far healthier than Sebelia herself.

Mr. Watts really is a miracle worker…

Sebelia half-listened as Claude fussed over her, handing her one healthy snack after another.

But the real trouble began when she finally tried a big handful of herbal jelly.
