“S-Si-heon. I’m sorry. I made a mistake. My thoughts were short-sighted. I’m truly sorry, okay?”

Si-heon tilted his head slightly.

“Your apology should be to my wife. Not to me.”

When he gestured with his eyes toward Ga-eun, Wu-hyeon quickly apologized.

“I’m sorry, Director… No, Chief Executive. I acted inappropriately in my eagerness to become familiar.”

Wu-hyeon had been about to say “Ga-eun-ssi” but quickly changed his address at Si-heon’s piercing gaze.

“It’s… fine.”

Ga-eun started to say it was okay but stopped, knowing such a response would diminish Si-heon’s dignity. Instead, she silently bowed her head.

As the atmosphere grew cold, people began to arrive. They sensed the cold atmosphere but were accustomed to such tension wherever Si-heon was present, so they thought nothing unusual had occurred.

The Park Ju-seong and Park Ju-yeon siblings had just arrived, confirming Si-heon’s sedan in the parking lot before hurrying into the café.

“Hey, Park Ju-yeon. Is it true what you said about Si-heon’s wife pushing him?”

“I told you. If Si-heon gets divorced, I’ll actively speak to the chairman. So he better treat her well.”

“What are you talking about?”

“If PK Holdings becomes solid, my chances of becoming the Hwanhee Group’s daughter-in-law increase, right?”

“Fine, I’ll handle that. You just go to a dermatology clinic. Or a plastic surgery clinic.”

“What? Are you serious?”

Though Ju-yeon glared, Ju-seong’s gaze was fixed on Ga-eun, who was beginning to appear in the distance.

“Look at Kwon Si-heon’s standards. Even top celebrities couldn’t hope to reach his level.”

“Precisely because she’s a celebrity. I’m from the PK Group. That woman is just covering her modest background with a somewhat attractive face.”

“Somewhat attractive? Her?”

“Anyway. Don’t you go crazy when you see women like her? That pure, fox-like style. Get yourself together. These are the types who’ll strike you from behind first.”

Even as she spoke, Ju-yeon bit her lip while looking at Ga-eun.

Ga-eun sat beside Si-heon like a painting, appearing more ethereal and elegant than ever today.

‘Just wait until this weekend. Once she’s gone, I’ll completely strip her down.’

To create an impactful moment, she would have to be patient.

As Park Ju-yeon took a deep breath, Kwon Si-jung and Jung Yeo-jin entered the building, guided by an employee.

The moment Si-heon’s figure came into view, Kwon Si-jung involuntarily flinched.

“Darling, why are you trembling!”

“…Wh-Who’s trembling?”

“Don’t be scared. Just wait until the weekend. He’ll become the Hwanhee Group’s heir.”

With Yeo-jin’s words, Si-jung looked around nervously and whispered, “Really? Everything will be resolved just after the weekend?”

“How many times do I have to tell you? My mouth is going numb from repeating it.”

“If not, we’re as good as dead.”

Si-jung’s voice dropped even lower.

“That bastard Kwon Si-heon, if anyone touches his people, he’ll chase them to the end of the earth and rip out their heart while they’re still alive.”

“Don’t worry. Even the chairman won’t be able to stop this this time.”

“What exactly is happening?”

Yeo-jin raised the corner of her red lips.

“I can’t tell you if. Your mouth is too loose. If it leaks, everything’s ruined. And don’t tell mother-in-law. If they prepare in advance, everything will turn to nothing.”

Despite his unease, Si-jung reluctantly followed his wife, who spoke with strong confidence.

This gathering was for the younger women of the Jinri Association, attended with their husbands or male siblings, primarily led by Yeo-jin.

“I’m so happy we could gather like this. It’s wonderful to see familiar faces, and even more delightful to see those we haven’t seen in a while. Since we know each other so well, I hope everyone enjoys themselves comfortably.”

Everyone smiled and gave light applause at her words.

Familiar faces.

Familiar conversations.

Yet, Si-heon’s mere presence transformed the meeting’s entire atmosphere.

Especially after he briefly responded to a few courageous attempts at conversation, the entire room’s energy instantly centered around him.

Kwon Si-jung could only gulp down his tea, holding his breath.

‘Damn bastards. Usually, they’d be crawling beneath me, dying to please.’

Every time the married Si-heon appeared with his wife, Kwon Si-jung acutely felt his own diminished status.

A fox playing king where no tiger roamed – that was exactly what he was.

In Si-heon’s absence, he had been the representative and symbol of Hwanhee Group.

Intoxicated by that feeling, he had pushed his face everywhere, even when it was troublesome.

Briefly uncertain about his wife’s words, now he could only pray for the weekend to come quickly.

He didn’t know exactly what, but he desperately hoped Yeo-jin would drag Kwon Si-heon down.
