The records of battles against the demon king’s servants were either minimized or entirely omitted from history books.

It became like this because Bayarden and Pendragon, their ancestors, were dragons who had no interest in human worldly honors.

“Yeah, they’re his servants.”

“Then, are there other servants still around?”

“Of course. Those who believe in the demon king’s revival are biding their time, diligently fleeing.”

“Is there one among them who uses illusion magic?”

The power of the white snake was different from that of ordinary monsters.

The monster that had killed Kendrick was too strong for him to handle.

“There should be… but I can’t remember well. This persona focuses more on swordsmanship than historical or real memories.”

Unfortunately, the persona left by Pendragon seemed to remember only a fraction.

“The fact that the demon king’s minions are returning means the demon king’s revival is imminent, doesn’t it?”

Is the demon king’s revival truly approaching?

Maya was genuinely curious about this.

“Yes.”

White Dragon answered without a moment’s hesitation.

“It’s certain.”

“Just as I thought.”

“But don’t worry too much. You’re strong enough to defeat the demon king.”

Maya made an awkward face at the White Dragon’s words.

“Thanks for saying that.”

Still, she couldn’t let her guard down.

‘The opponent is none other than the demon king.’

Suddenly, she wondered what had happened to the demon king after her death in her previous life.

Did the demon king eventually destroy the world in that timeline?

What was clear was that she now had another matter to worry about, in addition to Tristan’s curse and the emperor.

“And Maya, don’t be too cautious.”

White Dragon saw no fault in Maya.

“It’s just that you two are different. You talk, learn from each other, and get to know one another.”

Humans think too deeply. They become overly cautious even about facing each other.

“If you’re going to clash anyway, isn’t it better to clash sooner?”

Maya laughed at White Dragon’s straightforward solution.

“Right, you’re correct.”

She had been overthinking because it was Tristan.

But that wasn’t like Maya.

“When we arrive in the capital tomorrow, I should start by increasing our physical contact.”

Dealing with one problem at a time and learning from it was the Maya she knew herself to be.

“That’s the right attitude!”

White Dragon cheered her on.

“Kiiing!”

The wyvern, who had been quietly listening, also let out a vigorous cry.

“Do you even understand what we’re talking about?”

Maya’s skeptical look prompted a confident response from the wyvern.

“Kiiing!”

Of course not!

As she spent more time with the wyvern, Maya had come to understand its various cries.

Even the same “kiiing” had nuances.

With a confident look, Maya smacked the wyvern’s head.

“Kiiing!”

But the wyvern’s cry remained vigorous.

Maya and Tristan arrived in the capital, Atz. However, Atz had a very different atmosphere than they had expected.

Despite it being winter, the weather felt like spring.

The sunlight was so warm that there was no need for the cloak Kendrick had given her.

As a result, the many flowers and trees still in bloom shone brilliantly.

“Tristan, this is your first time seeing Atz, isn’t it?”

“Yes, it is.”

The rivers flowing throughout the city and the tall, intricate buildings were splendid. Unlike the north, where the focus was more on practical aspects like temperature control and thick walls to survive the winter, the capital had a different approach.

Maya eagerly observed the scenery outside with Tristan.

The capital felt new and nostalgic since she hadn’t seen it in a long time.

However, the feeling didn’t last long.

People’s gazes on the street began to focus on the black dragon emblem of the carriage.

The carriage attracted intense interest.

“It’s better to stop looking now.”

Meeting Tristan’s gaze, Maya laughed lightly and sat beside him.

Clip, clop. The carriage made a noisy sound as it moved out of sight.

“We’re almost at the mansion now.”

Tristan, glancing outside, recalled the path and spoke.

Maya nodded as she watched Tristan smile at her.

Maya recalled the scenes of the capital Atz she had just observed.

It hadn’t been that long since she last saw it, but the view of Atz felt different.

‘Is it because my mindset has changed?’

Or maybe it was because she was with Tristan.
