Truu wriggled out of my arms and looked up at me. His light brown eyes, paler than Feyden’s, sparkled innocently.

His appearance looked so identical to Feyden’s that one might say Feyden had given birth to him, but those pure and adorable eyes didn’t resemble him at all. I thought that was truly fortunate.

And the fact that he didn’t resemble Feyden’s nasty, hot-tempered personality was something to thank the heavens for.

“What brings our Truu here today?”

I asked with a flower-like smile floating around my face. Then Truu, who had been flustered by my surprise attack on the top of his head, quickly relaxed his expression and smiled brightly.

“I came to congratulate you!”

“Hm?”

Truu looked up at Feyden behind him. Seeing him grab Feyden’s pant leg and tug, tug at it, it seemed he wanted something.

What could it be?

While I watched the brothers with anticipation, Feyden brought forward the hand he had been hiding behind his body.

“Wow!”

“I made it myself. Congratulations on opening the convenience store!”

What Feyden handed to Truu with a sour face was none other than a bouquet richly woven with wildflowers.

The wildflowers, now in the height of spring, had bloomed brightly and gave off a faint floral scent.

Thinking of Truu picking each nameless wildflower with cute white petals one by one and weaving them himself, I couldn’t help but be moved.

“My goodness…”

With a face prettier than flowers, Truu held the bouquet out to me.

I furrowed my brow fiercely and lifted my head upward. Because I felt like tears might suddenly spill out.

“Th-Thank you… It’s really so pretty. How did you even think of something this lovely?”

As I held the bouquet of wildflowers preciously, Feyden’s pitiful gaze descended on me. It felt like I could hear him scolding me, asking what was so great about those weeds scattered all over the fields.

“You really have no sentiment, Feyden. Truly.”

“I don’t cultivate useless things like that.”

“Yees. Of course you wouldn’t. Truu, I’m so grateful that I want to give you a present too. Do you want to pick something you want from the desserts over there?”

“Can I really?”

Truu’s eyes sparkled like candy. I pushed Truu’s back and told him to hurry and choose.

Truu was scanning the snack corner with serious eyes when, suddenly, he shouted.

“Oh! This!”

What he picked up was none other than a simple snack made by rolling wheat flour thin, baking it, and sprinkling sugar on top. There were plenty of expensive snacks like candies, so it was obvious why Truu had shown interest in that flour snack.

“Hyung, do you remember this? This is the one we always saw when we lived in Pont-Sif.”

“…That’s right.”

“My friends said it was good, so I really wanted to try it… but we couldn’t because we had no money.”

A faint bitterness lingered around Truu’s mouth for a moment.

That was right. Those flour biscuits were sweets I had personally procured from Pont-Sif, beyond the bridge, where vagrants and the working class lived. They were apparently rather famous in Pont-Sif, so I had expected Tru to recognize them.

After hesitating for a moment, Truu picked up that flour snack.

“You can choose something else.”

“No. This… I’m curious about this.”

I fully understood how Truu felt. Because the past version of me who had been so poor as a child that I deliberately took the long way around to avoid smelling grilled pork belly still existed inside me.

“Later, when I bring in ingredients from Dongguk, I’ll make you even tastier snacks. Sit here and eat.”

“Thank you!”

Feyden quietly watched Truu crunch on the snack with an excited face. I cautiously guessed it might be because he felt sorry about the days that had passed.

“But why is this place completely empty?”

Truu pointed at the empty cabinet in the corner in front of the table. There wasn’t a huge amount of stock, but in the food corner, I had placed ingredients and foods with long shelf lives that I’d sourced little by little from the market, and in the household goods corner, I had put out small miscellaneous items. It seemed he found that cabinet strange because it was the only one without a price tag or even a corner name.

“Ah, that’s where I’m going to put emergency medicine, but I haven’t been able to get medicine yet. There isn’t really a skilled pharmacist suitable for supplying medicine to a convenience store.”

“Whoaa. You’re selling medicine here? I thought you could only get medicine from a clinic. If you really sell medicine here, I think it’d be really good for people who don’t have time to go to a clinic or don’t have money! Ah, if you sell the medicine at a high price, then there’s nothing to be done…”

“I’ll sell it as cheaply as possible. That’s what our Truu wants too, right?”

Nod, nod!

Was he truly an angel incarnate? How was our Truu so kindhearted too?

He was completely different from me, who had said I would sell it cheaply while secretly thinking I’d add a margin and sell it.

Laughing, I brought over another snack and placed it in front of Truu.

“If someone appears who says they’ve seen a person with black hair and purple eyes, could you tell me?”

It was a request I made after hearing that Truu, who met many different kinds of people at the temple, had an incredible network. If I couldn’t hear anything from Truu either, I would have to use a guild as my second-best option.

“If they have purple eyes… that means they’re of mixed demon blood.”

Truu looked at me with puzzled eyes, but I didn’t answer.
