“Anyway. If a problem customer comes, or if that crazy-eyed bastard comes, tell me right away. I’ll come running.”

“What are you going to do after running here?”

“Break his legs or lock him up somewhere, so he can never come near you again.”

“…You really say anything in front of a child.”

Our Truu’s ears are angelic too, so they’ll rot.

I pressed Feyden’s arm with both hands and gestured for him to hurry up and disappear over there.

“You do know that person’s status before saying that, right?”

“Whether they’re a royal or a beggar, they’re all the same human. And do I look like I’d care about something like status?”

“…No.”

That’s the problem with you.

Think a little before acting and learn to know when to hold back.

What on earth have you learned after spending nearly five years beside me? Why hasn’t a single thing changed.

I quickly gave Truu a look telling him to hurry and take his immature older brother away, then said goodbye.

“Take care too, Truu! I’ll come see you when I make time to pray at the temple.”

“Yes. I hope your shop becomes a huge hit! Goodbye!”

I waved for a long time at the backs of the brothers walking away while holding hands, then turned my head.

Then something suddenly filled my vision.

It was a black spire that rose high as if looking down on the low buildings of the square from above. It was the tower of the Ragnar Duchy, built barely 50cm lower than the imperial palace, as if mocking the law that didn’t allow any building higher than the Emperor’s Palace.

As could be seen from the exterior of the tall, solidly built pointed tower, it was a building that clearly revealed the high pride of the Ragnar family and their spirit of keeping the imperial family in check.

The tall tower was visible straight ahead when I stepped out of the shop. For some reason, I felt as if that building was watching my shop, so I soon turned and went back inside.

Because if I kept staring at it for too long, I felt like the face of someone who kept gnawing away at my mind would come to mind.

After scurrying into the shop, I picked up the sign I had spent several nights thinking about and a full day making, then came back outside.

My own pretty sign, with wood neatly trimmed into a square shape and carefully drawn and painted with colorful paints.

I drew simple shapes resembling a triangle kimbap and a skewer, then carved Roman numerals underneath to mean 25 o’clock.

For now, the shop was still in its early stages, and I didn’t know how many customers would come, so I couldn’t operate the shop all day. But it was a sign engraved with my own determination to one day create a convenience store that would be open 24 hours.

I stepped onto a chair and hung the sign on the hook.

The sign swayed lightly. Seeing that, I felt a fierce thrill.

Because after hanging the sign, I finally felt like I had truly become a shop owner.

“To think I fulfilled my wish after reincarnating. How fascinating.”

Maybe I had been blessed.

I gently stroked the sign with my hand once more, then dragged out the tables and chairs I had kept inside the shop and lined them up neatly in front of the store.

“Oh. It looks pretty much like a convenience store.”

Since they weren’t the plastic chairs and tables used in Korea, that perfect feeling didn’t come out, but once I had put together something fairly convenience store-like, pride naturally filled my chest.

An otherworld convenience store!

I’ll make a store that the people in this novel could never even imagine.

For some reason, I had the amusing thought that maybe I had reincarnated with memories of my past life in order to become the owner of a huge hit shop.

“Welcome!”

An unexpectedly large number of customers visited the shop. Was it thanks to how hard I had shamelessly buttered up the trio of aunties and the surrounding merchants? I worked my feet busily while regretting that I hadn’t hired one clerk in advance.

Honestly, if I had been used to shop work, I could have handled it easily on my own, but as a rookie owner who hadn’t even opened the shop a week ago, I was clumsy in far too many ways.

The stock I had thought I had prepared generously ran out completely, I got confused about prices, and dealing with customers asking what this and that were from all over the place was so hectic I felt like I could die.

But the one thing I could say for certain was this: I’m happy.

These were busy days without even a moment to drink water, and my waist, legs, and every part of my body ached without a single part left intact, but my mood alone was incredible.

Was this the happiness of someone who had achieved their dream?

The last day of the soft opening.

It was late evening when I was checking the stock of the shop, which had finally become quiet.

Jingle—

At the small sound of the bell, my body reacted automatically. I rose and turned toward the door.

“Welcome!”

Despite my bright greeting, the customer only stood motionlessly in front of the door and stared at me.

A tall man with a gloomy atmosphere, wearing a robe pulled deeply over his head so only his eyes could be seen.

‘Did he really come to buy something…?’

Just as I clenched a small fistful of my convenience store vest in anxiety, the unknown customer strode forward and came straight toward me.
